I believe healing is a choice. While no one chooses to experience trauma or is responsible for what happened to them, each person has to opportunity to decide how to move forward. Therapy cannot erase the past, but it can provide the tools and support to foster healing and growth.

I believe growth sometimes comes from asking the hard questions and looking at things differently, while other times, it comes from having someone who will sit beside you without needing to fill every quiet moment.

Every individual has the capacity to change and it is my privilege to walk alongside clients as they reclaim their lives and discover their own resilience.

First session

Your first session is all about getting to know each other and helping you feel comfortable getting started. I'll ask some questions about your background, your experiences, and what's bringing you to therapy. We'll talk about what you'd like to work on, what you're hoping to get out of therapy, and what meaningful change looks like for you

Strengths

One of my strengths as a therapist is knowing when to challenge you and when to simply sit with you in silence. I believe growth sometimes comes from asking the hard questions and looking at things differently, while other times, it comes from having someone who will sit beside you without needing to fill every quiet moment. Above all, I care about you as a person, not just the challenges you're facing. I want to know what makes you you, I want to hear about the animals you love, the teams you cheer for, the hobbies that bring you joy, and the little things that make life meaningful to you. I believe those details matter because therapy isn't just about working through what's hard; it's also about understanding who you are, what matters to you, and what makes life worth living. My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported while also feeling empowered to grow.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who is open to looking at things from a different perspective, willing to get uncomfortable, and ready to work through the hard stuff. You don't have to have it all figured out, and you definitely don't have to show up with everything neatly packaged. I value clients who are willing to be curious about themselves, challenge old patterns, and try new ways of approaching life, even when it's difficult. We can absolutely talk about your week, the things that made you laugh, or whatever is on your mind that day. But I also want to help you dig a little deeper, understand what's underneath the surface, and work toward meaningful change. You don't have to be ready for every hard conversation, but being willing to show up for yourself, even when it's uncomfortable, is a great place to start.

Treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR is a treatment method that uses bilateral stimulation (a rhythmic, side-to-side sensory input that alternates between the left and right sides of your body) to help an individual time stamp a traumatic or uncomfortable memory into the past. You really don't have to talk much about the memory, so this is a great method for those who feel a lot of things, but can't always put those things into words.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is where we explore the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By analyzing this connection, we can challenge unhelpful thinking, which then changes how we feel and what we do.

Trauma-Focused CBT

This is a first line treatment for children and adolecents who have experienced trauma. It is typically completed with caregiver involvement and includes working through 9 main components to work through trauma

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of therapy that teaches people practical skills to manage their emotions, cope with stress, and improve their relationships. It is based on the idea that you can accept yourself as you are while also working toward positive change. DBT helps clients understand that their feelings are valid while learning healthier ways to respond to them.
