Hi: My name is Barbara Doll. I have over 25 years of experience in therapy and mediation. I love to meet new clients and strive to make my sessions comfortable and, of course, without judgement. I want my sessions to be a safe, comfortable, peaceful place for clients to be able to have a safe place for people to express feelings and perhaps even identify feelings. I have a vast experience in divorce, separation and parenting issues, Domestic Abuse Issues, Depression and Anxiety Grief issues. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Therapy, Mindfulness and Motivational Interviewing as therapy interventions. If you are unsure about those interventions I will be happy to take time to explain them to you. Making an appointment for therapy takes a lot of courage and I congratulate you for taking this big step. I want my clients to experience a safe, non-judgemental, peaceful place where clients can talk about their history, express their feelings and talk about their dreams and hopes for the future and discover what may be standing in the way to achieve those hopes and dreams.
In our first session we will get to know each other through questions and conversation. You can ask me questions about me, in the therapy context, and I will ask you questions about yourself. As we get to know each other, hopefully you will find I am an empathetic person who you can trust to keep in mind your best interest and listen to you with a nonjudgemental ear.
People are different. After meeting the client, I will pick an intervention which is appropriate and effective for the client. I am easy to talk to and have a sense of humor at appropriate times. I was a voice, music therapy and piano major in my under graduate school. I taught piano for 20 years and also play the banjo and guitar. In my past life my father taught me to fly his light plane and I actually flew a C140 army transport plane as a civilian. I am an ex army wife and have lived in Louisiana and Hawaii. I still get calls from clients I worked with years ago.
Hi: I have been a therapist in private practice and in community mental health for over 25 years. I worked with the Hamilton County Supreme Court in developing a mediation model for Domestic Abuse Issues. And have worked extensively with divorce and parenting issues and grief issues. I am also an Addiction Counselor, working with client's who are addicted to various substances, food addiction and hoarding.
