New to Grow
Welcome! I am a compassionate, approachable therapist who values authenticity, empathy, and communication. I work to create a supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. My goal is to help each person build practical skills, recognize their strengths, and move toward a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and fulfilling. I believe every person has a unique story, and I consider it a privilege to be part of that journey.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and the first session is simply a place to begin. We'll talk about what's been going on, what you need, and what you're hoping will change. We'll collaborate on initial goals and discuss how I can best support you. I will also ask questions about your personal history, relationships, strengths, and any previous counseling experiences so I can better understand the whole picture.
I believe that building a strong therapeutic relationship is so important in therapy. By building these connections, I am able to provide my clients with an environment that feels safe and comfortable. My role is to help guide and support you at a pace that feels comfortable. I believe that each story is unique and should be treated so.
My ideal client is someone who is a young professional looking to learn about themselves and who have a desire to change how they manage their thoughts, feelings, and the stressors life brings us. My ideal client would utilize therapy as a safe place to share feelings and process emotions on events that are stressful to their well-being. My ideal client would be open to learning how to effectively communicate with others and speak up for themselves. Having a client who is open to positive talk and strengths based would be ideal as our outlook on life impacts how we manage the daily stressors.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Sometimes our brains get stuck into habits of thinking that make us feel worse or keep us from moving forward. In therapy, we slow those movements down, look at what is happening , and practice new ways of thinking and responding. Over time, those small changes can make a big difference in how you feel, cope with challenges, and navigate everyday life!
Strength-Based
I love to incorporate the principles of positive psychology. This approach helps clients identify their strengths, values, and the things that give their lives meaning. While we absolutely make space for difficult emotions and work through challenges, we also focus on what is going well and how to build on those successes. Together, we work to increase resilience, confidence, gratitude, and healthy relationships.
Psychoeducation
I believe that understanding what's happening in your mind and body is the first step toward healing. I help clients learn about topics such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief, and emotional regulation in a way that is easier to understand. When clients understand why they are feeling the way they do, they often feel less overwhelmed and more confident in using the skills we practice in therapy.
Motivational Interviewing
Many people know they want something to change, but part of them also feels uncertain or stuck. Motivational interviewing provides a safe, nonjudgemental space to talk through the uncertainty. Together, we explore what's getting in the way, what matters most to you, and what small steps feel realistic. My role is to help you discover your own motivation and build confidence to make changes that fit your life.
