# Welcome to The Unraveling Room. For more than 25 years, I have worked in community mental health, crisis intervention, and hospital-based psychiatric practice. I've learned something along the way: **People are complicated.** I'm comfortable there. Maybe your story includes trauma, bipolar disorder, depression, personality disorders, chronic pain, complex medical conditions, or functional seizures (PNES). Maybe you've collected diagnoses, medications, specialists, and years of therapy—and still feel that no one quite understands the whole story. **You are not a diagnosis.** And you are not a problem waiting for the right therapeutic technique. You are a story. I don't fear your anger. Your intensity. Your contradictions. Your messy history. Or the part of your story you've been afraid to say out loud. **Bring it.** I am an active therapist. I listen deeply, but I also ask questions. I notice patterns. I make connections. I challenge when I believe it matters. We may laugh. We may work on practical skills. And sometimes we will sit together with something neither of us can fix. Medication can be an important tool. Medical care matters. When appropriate, I will collaborate with your psychiatric or medical providers. But **the relationship matters.** Twenty-five years of experience cannot replace what happens between two people in a therapy room. And I am not the therapist for everyone. If you want someone to mostly listen, I may not be your therapist. But if you want someone willing to enter the labyrinth with you—to ask difficult questions, follow unexpected turns, and stay when things get uncomfortable—we might fit. Our lives are patterns woven from countless threads. Some we chose. Some were handed to us. Some held us together. Some became knots. **We don't unravel you.** We unravel the pattern. **Bring your story. Bring the threads.** Let's see where they lead.

Vivian Hodges (She/Her) is a licensed independent clinical social worker supervisor. She started her path to tranquility by receiving her undergraduate degree in psychology at The Ohio State University in 2016, while then pursuing her masters at Case Western Reserve University in social work with a focus on adult mental health in 2018. Over the years, she has experience providing psychotherapy and crisis interventions in foster care, school-based, hospital and private practice settings for both youth and adults. She primarily has experience with adults, college students, and youth experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, work stressors, and interpersonal/relationship issues. She strongly believes in building a therapeutic relationship through strength-based techniques to empower and create a safe place when exploring current life stressors. Therapy is a place for the brain and body to heal and restore just as you would go to the primary care doctor for a physical check up. Through trauma informed cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy, she will guide her clients on a path of tranquility and healing. She will focus on a holistic approach by providing community based resources to ensure everyone’s basic needs are met during the therapeutic process. When she has free time, she enjoys playing with her two dogs, reading, knitting funky hats, traveling in the US or abroad, and exercising.

As a Reality Therapist, who is also a certified DBT practitioner, I believe we are all responsible for the choices we make. I have worked with people of all ages suffering from alcohol and drug-related addictions, borderline personality disorder, PTSD and other trauma-related disorders, sexual abuse, anxiety, ADHD, and interpersonal problems. My core values are authenticity, transparency, integrity, compassion, and accountability and I operate from a place of moral principle. My purpose is to speak life into others and teach them how to do the same, starting within themselves. When we learn to connect our mind, body, and spirit we can accept things for what they are, people for who they are, and still find harmony within. To me, life is like a roller coaster, and sometimes the only way to enjoy it is to throw your hands up and scream until you find the laughter within. We all suffer. We all have a story to tell. I’m here to listen to yours and help you find the peace that surpasses all understanding because we were never designed to go through life alone. Join me if you want to learn how to take back control of your life and become comfortably uncomfortable. You are unique. You are beloved. You are enough. Hi, I’m Brittany, an LISW in Ohio, wife, and mom of three with a heart for supporting women through the many seasons and transitions of life. I’m especially passionate about women’s and maternal mental health and creating a space where women feel seen, heard, and genuinely supported. I’m the founder of Selah Maternal Wellness, a virtual private practice where I work with women navigating anxiety, stress, overwhelm, life transitions, relationships, identity, pregnancy, postpartum, motherhood, and the everyday challenges that come with carrying so many roles. While maternal mental health holds a special place in my heart, my work is not limited to motherhood. I welcome women in all stages of life who are looking for a space to slow down, reconnect with themselves, build on their strengths, and create meaningful change. My approach is warm, collaborative, strengths-based, and focused on meeting you where you are. I also offer Christian counseling and faith-based therapy for women who would like to incorporate their faith into their healing journey, while always honoring each client’s individual beliefs and preferences. The name Selah reflects much of what I hope to offer through this work—a moment to pause, reflect, breathe, and reconnect. As women, we can spend so much time caring for everyone and everything around us that we forget we need care, too! Beyond individual therapy, I offer local workshops and group sessions to help women and moms connect, learn, and build supportive community. I’m also currently working toward my PMH-C certification to deepen my ability to support women throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Whether through individual therapy, faith-based support, workshops, or groups, my hope is for Selah to be a place where women can pause, feel supported, reconnect with who they are, and know they don’t have to navigate life alone.

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported from the start. I work with individuals who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about what’s next in their lives. I grew up in the Cleveland area and then came to Michigan where I completed my Bachelor's degree at Hope College where I studied social work. While in school I completed a field placement working as a probation officer and spent time in Mental Health and Sobriety Treatment Court. After graduation, my now husband and I moved back to Cleveland where I completed my Masters in Social Work with a specialization in Health Studies at Case Western Reserve University. While in school I completed internships with the Cleveland Clinic in their Adolescent Psychiatric Unit as well as an interdisciplinary internship at Care Alliance. Following graduation, I worked in admissions for psychiatric and detox services for six years. I then wanted to expand my skill set and pursued a position providing therapy to health care employees as an EAP counselor at a local hospital system. I found that I really love the opportunity to get to know my clients and to walk alongside them on their journey.

I’m a licensed therapist and the founder of MindfulWayz and The Sanctuary, where I offer a warm, steady, emotionally spacious environment for adults navigating overwhelm, trauma, anxiety, and nervous‑system strain. My work is grounded in presence, curiosity, and respect for each person’s lived experience. I hold space without urgency, without pressure, and without the expectation to move faster than your system is ready for. I work slowly and collaboratively, honoring each person’s pace and the wisdom of their internal timing. My approach weaves somatic awareness, gentle reflection, and mindful pacing to support clients in reconnecting with their inner steadiness and creating a more compassionate relationship with themselves. I integrate trauma‑informed stabilization, parts‑oriented exploration, and nervous‑system regulation practices in ways that feel accessible and choice‑based. Clients often come to me during seasons of transition, exhaustion, or emotional overload — moments when old strategies no longer feel supportive and something quieter, steadier, and more sustainable is needed. Together, we explore what feels tender, what feels possible, and what feels ready, allowing your system to guide the process. My intention is to offer a therapeutic space that feels grounding, inclusive, and deeply respectful of your humanity. A space where you can soften, breathe, and move at a pace that feels safe for your body, your story, and your unfolding.

My passion in the mental health field is to encourage children and teens to become life-long advocates for their emotional, mental, and physical well-being. It is my hope that together, we will find useful strategies that can be built upon and continue to grow during both the ups and downs of adolescence and beyond. My clients often present with moderate to severe worries and anxiety around “typical” angst related to school, activities, and relationships. Sometimes the stress is sneaky and camouflaged to look like fatigue, irritability, and apathy. I find that many young people use coping skills that may not be the healthiest; however making the initial decision to seek out better solutions through counseling provides countless options for therapeutic approaches. In 2025, I proudly founded my own practice, Grand Wellness Group, in an effort to continue to provide the best support for clients, families, and supervision for clinical mental health providers.

Some wounds don’t show on the surface. They live in the way you second-guess yourself, struggle to trust, feel responsible for everyone else’s emotions, or brace yourself for rejection even when you’re grown. Sometimes what we call “family conflict” is actually the lifelong imprint of relationships that taught you to survive before you ever learned how to feel safe. My work with women 35+ focuses on the deeper layers beneath family struggles—attachment wounds, enmeshment, emotional abuse, chronic invalidation, unresolved childhood trauma, estrangement, and painful patterns that continue to surface in adult relationships. Maybe you’ve spent years being the peacemaker, carrying everyone else’s emotions, questioning your own reality, or feeling guilty for finally creating boundaries. Maybe you’ve reached a point where you’re asking, “Why can’t it be my turn to be attended to?” “Why was I programmed to believe that I’m being selfish for having needs and wants?” “Why can’t I matter as well?” Or “What would my life feel like if I stopped allowing my past to dictate my present?” Therapy with me isn’t about forcing reconciliation, assigning blame, or telling you to simply “let it go.” It’s about creating space to understand what happened, honor what you experienced, process the wounds you’ve carried, and begin responding to life from a place of greater self-trust and emotional freedom. Because sometimes healing means changing the relationship with your family. Sometimes it means creating distance. And sometimes it means finally realizing that you can love someone, grieve someone, or walk away from someone without abandoning yourself. You don’t have to spend the rest of your life managing the consequences of what happened in your childhood. Your past deserves to be understood—but it does not deserve to own your future.

We’ll make room for whatever you’re carrying, whether it’s stress, relationship challenges, big life changes, old patterns that keep showing up, or simply the feeling that something needs to shift. I’ll listen closely, help you make sense of what’s going on, and support you in finding practical ways to move forward. I want our work to feel real and useful—not overly clinical or one-size-fits-all. Together, we’ll go at a pace that feels right for you, build on your strengths, and create space for more clarity, confidence, and self-trust.

I'm happy that you reached out for help, which takes courage and strength. My clients are often people who are doing their best to hold everything together but feel the weight of stress, anxiety, past experiences, or major life changes catching up with them. Many are high‑functioning on the outside yet overwhelmed on the inside. Others are navigating relationship challenges, grief, burnout, identity questions, or a sense that they’ve lost connection with themselves. I work with adults who want support that feels human, compassionate, and practical - not clinical or cold. I will offer a space where you can speak openly, feel understood, and explore what you’re going through without judgment. Together, we’ll identify what’s weighing on you, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools to help you cope, grow, and move toward the life you want. If you’re feeling stuck, tired, or simply ready for something to shift, I’m here to help you take that next step. You’re welcome to reach out whenever you’re ready...we can talk about what you’re looking for and see if working together feels like a good fit.

Welcome! I'm Leigh. I know many people are working to do their best while balancing burnout, anxiety, and the feeling that “the world is on fire.” I work with you to build sustainable changes, and a life that includes not only surviving, but finding moments of joy, confidence, and acceptance of who you are and how your brain works. I work to make my clients feel supported and heard, and focus on your experiences, thoughts, and feelings. The goal is always to help you understand how your brain works best, whether that is learning how to navigate ADHD, anxiety, depression, and/or lack of motivation, and develop concrete steps to take action towards a life with joy, confidence and being unapologetically yourself. At this time, I do not have any after school/evening sessions available.

I’m a husband and dad to three boys (ages 16, 13 and 8), and family is a huge part of my life. We live on a 20-acre homestead where we raise chickens, goats, pigs, and cows, and we spend a lot of time in the garden. Life on the farm keeps me grounded and reminds me daily of the value of patience, hard work, and slowing down to enjoy what really matters. Faith and community are also central for me. I’m actively involved in my church, and I see my work as an extension of that calling to walk alongside others. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial streak. Alongside my therapy work, I am starting a tech start-up, I’ve run an online store, and I even dabble in Bitcoin mining. I enjoy the challenge of building things from the ground up and thinking outside the box. I also read a lot, and my libertarian leanings have been shaped by writers like Murray Rothbard. The conservative/libertarian focus on freedom, personal responsibility and low time preference connects deeply with how I approach life and therapy: we’re at our best when we are free to live with responsibility in society, own our choices, and pursue truth apart from coercion. When it comes to therapy itself, I integrate my faith with practical, proven methods. I use Christian Counseling, CBT, Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and the Gottman Method to help people grow emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. My goal is to give you a space where your values are respected, your faith is honored, and you feel equipped to face life’s challenges with hope and clarity. If you’re looking for a therapist who understands the importance of faith, family, freedom, and practical tools for change, I’d love to walk with you on your journey.

I am a professional counselor with over 10 years of experience licensed in both Ohio (LPCC) and Pennsylvania (LPC). While I've worn many different hats in my career, what I love most is connecting one-on-one through individual sessions. I blend tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialetical Behavioral Therapy, and Schema Therapy with a person-centered, feminist lens approach rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. My goal is to create a space where you feel empowered to grow, heal, and shape your own path forward.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Ohio. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Ohio from Cincinnati to Cleveland! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Ohio.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
