In our first session together we will spend time getting to know each other and you will have opportunities to ask questions about the therapeutic process or myself and my approach to therapy first. We will then dive into the reasons you are seeking therapy and what you hope to gain from your sessions to help us create a plan for sessions.
I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I utilize a mixture of CBT and DBT skills primarily as well as client centered and solution focused techniques to help my clients achieve the goals that they set for themselves.
Corrie Gerster offers therapy covered by Buckeye Health Plan, Buckeye Health Plan (Managed Medicaid), CareSource, Medicaid - Buckeye Health Plan and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Ohio.
While I primarily utilize a CBT approach, I also integrate a variety of treatment modalities and approaches to best meet each individual client's needs.
I primarily use DBT skills in the treatment of personality disorders and history of trauma in combination with other treatment approaches.
