I’m a licensed professional clinical counselor with nearly 20 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges. My approach is relational, practical, and rooted in both insight and action. I draw from a variety of evidence-based methods—tailored to each client’s needs—to address issues like anxiety, relationship conflict, family dynamics, and faith-related concerns. Whether you’re feeling stuck or simply ready for growth, I aim to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful, lasting change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my priority is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard and understood. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and any concerns you may have about the process. I’ll ask questions to get a clearer picture of your background, current challenges, and goals, but there’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready for. My style is collaborative and down-to-earth—my goal isn’t to “fix” you, but to work alongside you as we begin identifying what’s underneath the surface and what needs to shift. We’ll also start to discuss a plan for moving forward, at a pace that feels right for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths lie in being relationally focused, deeply attuned, and committed to helping clients get to the root of their struggles. I don’t follow a one-size-fits-all method—I meet people where they are and adapt my approach based on their unique needs, values, and goals. I’m skilled at recognizing patterns, building strong therapeutic relationships, and creating a space where clients feel both supported and challenged. While I teach healthy coping strategies, my deeper aim is to help clients identify what’s underneath the surface—because when the source is addressed, real and lasting change becomes possible.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with individuals, couples, and families who are ready to look beneath the surface. While I do teach healthy coping strategies, I believe that real change happens when we identify the source of the problem—not just manage the symptoms. My ideal client is open to exploring patterns, history, and deeper emotional dynamics that may be affecting their current relationships or sense of self. Many of the people I work with are navigating life transitions, relational conflict, or past experiences that still impact them in the present. I also support clients who want to integrate their faith into the therapeutic process in a way that feels respectful and authentic. If you’re looking for clarity, direction, and lasting change, I’m here to help you get to the root.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and shift unhelpful patterns in their thinking and behavior. At the same time, I take an eclectic approach—drawing from models like Solution-Focused Therapy, Family Systems, and trauma-informed care—to meet each client’s unique needs. I work with individuals, couples, and families, and I strive to create a supportive, collaborative space where insight leads to meaningful, lasting change. I also welcome faith-informed counseling for clients who wish to integrate their spiritual beliefs into the healing process.

Couples Counseling

When working with couples, I focus on creating a safe, structured space where both partners feel heard—without taking sides. I help couples identify the underlying patterns that keep them stuck, improve how they communicate, and work through past hurt in a way that fosters healing rather than blame. Whether they’re navigating conflict, disconnection, or trust issues, I guide them toward rebuilding their relationship with clarity, empathy, and practical tools they can use outside of sessions. I also help each partner take ownership of their part in the dynamic, which is where real change begins.

Family Therapy

When using a family systems approach, I focus on understanding how each person’s behavior is shaped by the larger dynamics at play—not just what’s happening on the surface. I help clients see the roles they’ve learned to play within the family, how patterns get passed down or repeated, and what needs to shift for real growth to happen. My goal isn’t to place blame, but to bring clarity—to help families and individuals recognize how the system functions and how each person can take healthy ownership of their part in changing it. Whether I’m working with parents and teens, couples, or individuals exploring their family history, I work to create insight that leads to healthier relationships and a stronger sense of self.

Faith based therapy

When offering faith-based therapy, I meet clients where they are—without pressure or assumption. For those who want to integrate their spiritual beliefs into the counseling process, I provide a space that honors both their faith and their emotional needs. Whether it’s exploring questions of identity, forgiveness, purpose, or healing from past spiritual wounds, I help clients connect their beliefs with practical steps toward growth. My goal is never to preach, but to walk alongside clients in a way that strengthens both their inner life and their relationships. Faith can be a powerful part of the healing process, and I’m comfortable incorporating it when it aligns with the client’s values and goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

When I use cognitive-based strategies, I don’t just focus on thoughts—I look at how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors all interact in real life. I help clients identify patterns that are keeping them stuck and guide them in challenging distorted thinking, setting realistic goals, and developing practical tools for change. My approach is collaborative and down-to-earth, not rigid or scripted. Whether someone is dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or self-doubt, I aim to make the process accessible and empowering. The goal is to help people not only gain insight but also take action in ways that lead to real, lasting change.
