Are you looking for your life to be different somehow, but you aren't sure exactly what that would look like, or how to make it happen? I can help you identify your most pressing issues, then help you identify solutions that you believe will work and support you while you start to implement changes. I believe you are the most likely person to be able to identify your best solutions, and perhaps all you need is encouragement and acceptance to get started. I work from a background of existential theory (the idea that our human experiences are shared and we are all looking for meaning, purpose, satisfying relationships, and personal freedom), and I blend cognitive behavioral theory (CBT), motivational interviewing, radical acceptance, and humor into therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a method of learning the connections between our actions, our feelings, our thoughts, and our physical sensations. Motivational interviewing (MI) is a way to encourage positive changes without it feeling overwhelming or scary. I believe every person deserves care, concern, and a safe space to explore their feelings without judgment or fear. I aim to be easy to talk to, an excellent and attentive listener, and always supportive. I sometimes recommend helpful assignments in between therapy sessions to help you practice new skills and learn hidden truths about yourself. I help people who have been codependent on their partner to become freer to make their own decisions and to trust their partner to do the same. I can help you learn specific techniques to lessen the symptoms of your anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances.

As the world has grown smaller with access to so much instant information, children and families are feeling overwhelmed. As families are trying to cope from this place of overwhelm, their relationships and connections are suffering. Childhood trauma can also play a major part in the way we shape our families. Recognizing and understanding generational trauma is one of the first steps in creating your family differently. Sometimes even adults need help to help their children. I have 35 years of experience helping children and families cope with all that life can throw at them. I understand life is complicated and rarely easy. I will offer a safe place to learn about yourself from a strength-based perspective. I have worked with people of all ages from children to older adults. I have worked with people with ADHD, depression, anxiety, school-related issues, divorce, and improving family relationships. I must say I am straightforward and direct. I rarely believe that a child's problem is just the child's problem. The child's problem is a family problem and parents are responsible for their children.

My education includes a PhD in Religious Philosophy, a Master of Divinity, and Master of Science in Psychology, and I am working on a PhD in Psychology. Although my schooling may sound impressive, I credit most of my ability in working the field is due to my upbringing and a legitimate concern for people. I also have a background in chemical dependency treatment. Regarding mental health treatment, there is no greater joy than working with my veterans. I realize that trauma is not purely a veteran or first responder issue. Trauma changes our outlook on life. As we deal with the source and effect of the trauma, regardless of the age and time when they occured, we can find resolution. I have been a counselor for more than 30 years and have honed skills that are often missing in many new therapists. My main focus has been working with veterans and their issues. PTSD, depression, anxiety, survivor's guilt and combat related issues are issues I have dealt with for many years. I understand PTSD because I live with PTSD and understand.

Hello, I'm Dr. Walters, a licensed Clinical Psychologist. Ready to make some changes? Let's work together to get you on the path to managing mental health concerns, and recovery from substance use disorders. Over the past 26 years I've helped folks - probably much like yourself - develop the skills to get sober and maintain recovery from drugs and alcohol and manage co-occurring mental health concerns. I've had the opportunity to assist adults of all ages, races, cultures, religious/spiritual backgrounds, and many within the LBTQ+ community to create the foundation needed to manage their mental health and finally stop using drugs and alcohol. Are you concerned mental health symptoms such as depression or anxiety contribute to your substance use? It's quite common. We can talk about that as well and discuss strategies to help you manage symptoms and heal. If substance use is not a concern, but you are looking for help with anxiety, depression, or trauma- I can help get you on the path to being balanced and healthy. I look forward to meeting you.

Hello, My name is David Decker. I have worked therapist for 18 years; with an LCSW for 12 years. I also have an addiitonal 9 years in the mental health field prior to obtaining my MSW. During this time, I have provided support to persons to assist them in improving the way they view themselves, their lives and the challenges they face. This has included assisting them navigate decisions, changes and transitions within their lives, improving relationships with family members, coworkers, etc. I see my role as someone to assist you in improving your life, celebrating your "wins", seeking to find ways of adjusting to changes as they occur and exploring options to make improvements in your life. I love helping others find the positive areas in their lives on which they can build a better, more productive, comfortable and supportive environment for themselves and those close to them. I genuinely love helping others!! This assistance has included assisting in building and implementing plans to cope with Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, and adjustment disorders. In addition, I have extensive professional experience supporting those with cognitive disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder and alcohol/drug use disorders. This has included assisting them in advocating for their needs to be met across environments, learning more effective communication skills, implementing these strategies and helping them find other community resources to further support them. Throughout these processes, I have utilized a variety of modalities, dependent upon the individual needs of those to which I am providing assistance. As a Clinician, I think it is ultimately important to work collaboratively with the client to develop their own plans for moving forward, build on strengths and help them in targeting their most important concerns first.

Life can be so challenging, and sometimes we can seem to lose our way – getting lost in the spinning, the confusion, the uncertainty. Emotions can feel like they spiral or swing so rapidly that it can feel difficult to find stable ground, let alone direction for our lives. Maybe you have experienced this – that shift between anxiety & depression & irritability – that sense of feeling lost or struggling to see a way forward in your life. Working with adults and seniors over the past 15 years, in inpatient settings, intensive outpatient treatment, and individual therapy, I am an empathetic ear and a believer that growth and change are always possible, no matter how lost we may feel.

I have been working with families and teens in crisis for over 40 years and now though semi-retired I choose to use my skills to reach out through online therapy to support others. I come from a unique perspective that life is one of balance or imbalance. Balance is needed in our physical, emotional and spiritual lives and when out of balance life is just not right, we know it and sense it. Three main areas of imbalance are areas of power, perspective and pain. If you are powerless, your reality is off and can't think with clarity, if filtered through trauma one is left not knowing which area to begin "fixing things" and one feels overwhelmed not knowing how to grow or change. When balance is returned, trauma is on the road to healing, the mind is clear and empowerment comes, life is good and peace returns. I count myself a "theological therapist" or a "therapeutic theologian" as some things have to go deep to the soul level to heal and sometimes we need to realize some of our greatest pain comes from our greatest growth and it comes not from figuring things out at the head level, nor standing up for ourselves in an instant but from doing the deep soul work that leaves one finding joy again and resting in a peace that passes all understanding. I learned much of life and therapy on the front porches of the little town I was raised in and the little church on the corner that helped raise me. Of interest, I live on a mountain in South Carolina with my wife and four dogs. Licensed in Indiana since 1993.

I offer a variety of counseling services. My primary specialties are couples, ADHD-related issues in adults, and men's issues. I love working with couples, families and individuals. I work with kids as young as 12 years old to people in their golden years. I enjoy working with men and men's issues. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, anger management issues, ADHD-related issues in adults, and life transitions. I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2019 with my Master's degree and have 3+ years of experience. I worked as a Home Based Therapist working with families who had open DCS cases before moving into private practice full-time in April 2022. As a Christian, I approach what I do with a Christian worldview. This does not mean I try to shove my worldview down anyone's throat but I am not ashamed of who I am. I am very comfortable with clients who do not share my worldview. If a client wants to integrate their Christian faith into their counseling experience I am more than happy to integrate prayer and Scripture into their care.

I am here for your relational needs. I'm your counselor if you want someone who is all about relationships. Relationships can be the most rewarding part of life. They can also be one of the most difficult. Wherever you are in your relationship, I am here to help you thrive. I offer counseling for couples, families and individuals to help with all of life's changes. The reason I focus so much on relationships is because I know the profound effect relationships have on mental health, addiction, trauma. If life is a journey, counseling is a pit stop to overcome issues that arise but relationships are the roads that you navigate to get where you need to go. I can assist by providing support, conflict resolution, and relationship enrichment. I've worked with couples and individuals with relational issues, parenting issues, mental health needs including depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. Thank you for considering me as your counselor. I look forward to meeting you and working alongside you towards your goals.

I think counseling can be a lot of different things. Sometimes it's about keeping someone company while they're going through a hard time. Sometimes it's processing events from the past or maybe dealing with events that are happening right now. It can also be learning a new skill or different ways to cope. Together, we can decide what you need and work at your pace to address what you feel is the most important. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor in Indiana. I have been in the counseling field for 26 years. I've worked in private practice throughout that time, but have also worked in the criminal justice and community mental health settings. I work primarily with adults using cognitive behavioral therapy to help them think about struggles in their life from a different perspective. I love seeing people take back some of the power they feel they've lost to anxiety or helping them see the light at the end of the tunnel in depression or addiction. Taking the first step is one of the hardest, but things can feel better for you.

Biography: I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I facilitate the spiritual, mental and emotional healing process through talk therapy. The focus of most of my adult life has been to be a skilled helper to people in need. As I moved through my theological training, I realized that, often, others needed deeper support than "church" alone could give. I pursued further education to become a clinical counselor to meet those needs. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings including, outpatient community mental health, inpatient/outpatient substance abuse/addiction, sex offender therapy in the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, mental health professional in the Florida Department of Corrections, inpatient and day treatment of chronically mentally ill, and private practice. I believe my gift, in the counseling relationship, is that I help others see things for themselves. I also have a Christian world view which informs my interaction with others. I am a compassionate, non judgmental, "Wounded healer". Yes, I have had to negotiate life's struggles like anyone else. So, it is not just an academic exercise with me. I offer compassionate support while we work through your mental health issues including, depression, anxiety, stress, anger, fear, grief, loss, codependency, and self esteem issues.

Hi! I'm Jaci (pronounced Jackie). Kudos to you for taking the most difficult steps in healing and change... Realizing that if you could change without the help of a highly trained, caring professional, you already would have. That's why you and I are here... You can expect amazing results as you work with me to overcome years of feeling stuck, anxious, depressed, afraid of change, ashamed or unsure of yourself or who you are. You will overcome issues including self-sabotage, negative core beliefs, low self-esteem and under-achievement. You will learn more about yourself, and develop the strength and guts to face down any skeletons in your closet such as decisions you regret or abuse. We'll bust through limiting beliefs to empower you to set and reach the goals you've always dreamed of. We'll get to the root causes of child or adult ADHD, family conflict, and women's issues and implement strategies to help you get to know yourself better and make decisions that are in alignment with your values and with who you truly are, so you can make wise career and relationship choices. You can learn and practice the best parenting techniques, and heal the root issues that influence how present and connected you are to your children, and how you respond to them. You will become more knowledgeable and comfortable managing women’s issues and aging, and we can explore spirituality and religion if you like. I specialize in working with women, parents, children, and families to bring peace, structure, and fun back to your home. I love helping people heal and change through groups and lead an educational/supportive group for women with PTSD. I’m currently finishing my first book, “Heal Your Heart, Heal Your Child: Release Your Trauma to Become the Mom You Want to Be” to help moms break free from unhealthy generational patterns and fully enjoy their children and being a mom. Feel free to check out my website at healyourhearthealyourchild.com. I’ve had not just professional, but also personal, experience with all of the issues I listed. I’m a mom with ADD with two grown children with ADHD… Been there, done that, I can help you get through it! I am confident you will learn the skills and tools you need to heal from the emotional wounds you’ve suffered so that you can get out of your own way to reach the goals you’ve set for yourself and be the person you know you can be. If someone asked you not to think for 10 minutes how hard would that be? Is overthinking about the “What Ifs” driving you to relentlessly check things over and over again? Are you determined to find certainty in an uncertain world? Do you frequently ask others repeatedly if something or someone is going to be OK? No matter how much you do a task or say a particular thing does peace of mind elude you? Does the compulsion to handwash, re-read, double check, pray, or re-arrange items never provide lasting relief? Do you find yourself burdened by intrusive thoughts that strike against your will and preoccupy your mind for hours a day? OCD is characterized by unabating obsessions matched with intense mental or behavioral rituals to relieve the anxiety provoked. It is not treated by “talk therapy” but with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Through customized gradual exposures, ERP is an evidence-based method of intervention to reduce the severity of OCD symptoms. ERP is a collaborative and creative approach to learning new skills and strategies to become comfortable with uncertainty and more confident in your ability to handle life’s unexpected challenges. My style is compassionate, client centered, and culturally sensitive. What to do if you’re nervous about sharing your thoughts with me in therapy? If you're too embarrassed to share something, you can write it down, you can use visuals, you can type it. We can work around this to find other ways that you can deliver the communication. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, Hawaii, Indiana, Massachusetts, and Virginia. Registered Out-of-State Telehealth Provider in Florida, South Carolina, and Vermont. My treatment focus is on neurodivergent issues, gifted learners, managing life transitions, women’s mental health issues around shifting roles in family and career, and immigration/re-entry adjustment stressors.
