(she/her)
Hi, I’m Veronica Vaughn, Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I work with adult women who feel emotionally overloaded, overwhelmed by constant overthinking, or unsure how to move forward. Many of my clients are dealing with ongoing worry, self-doubt, relationship concerns, work pressure, life transitions, stress, or trying to keep everything together while carrying more than they show. My style is warm, honest, practical, and steady. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can talk openly, make sense of what has been weighing on you, and begin taking steps that feel realistic for your life.
In our first session, we will talk about what brings you to therapy, what has been difficult lately, and what you would like help with right now. I will ask questions to better understand your concerns, current stressors, coping patterns, strengths, and what you hope will be different. You do not have to know exactly where to start. We will begin by slowing things down, identifying what feels most important, and creating a direction for our work together.
One of my greatest strengths is helping clients slow things down, put words to what they are experiencing, and turn understanding into action. Therapy with me is active, focused, and practical. It is not just a place to talk while someone nods along. I help clients notice the connection between their thoughts, emotions, stress responses, relationships, and daily choices. From there, we work on understanding what is happening and identifying next steps that feel realistic for their life. I use tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, strengths-based therapy, Motivational Interviewing, DBT-informed coping skills, and psychoeducation to help clients build coping skills, reduce ongoing worry, strengthen communication, and take steps that feel more manageable.
I work best with adult women who are ready to pause, sort through what has been weighing on them, and take practical steps forward. Many clients come to therapy feeling emotionally overloaded, caught in overthinking, unsure how to respond in relationships, or tired from trying to keep everything together. I am a good fit for clients who want therapy to be active and focused, with room to talk honestly about what is happening while also learning tools, practicing new ways of thinking, and using those tools in daily life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients notice how their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and stress responses influence one another. My approach is practical and collaborative. We work on identifying unhelpful thought patterns, building more balanced perspectives, and using realistic coping tools in daily life. CBT can be especially helpful for ongoing worry, overthinking, self-doubt, stress, and feeling emotionally overloaded.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT-informed skills to help clients manage emotions, reduce reactivity, communicate more effectively, and get through stressful moments without becoming overwhelmed. This may include skills for mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. My use of DBT is practical and skills-based, not a full comprehensive DBT program.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore what feels difficult, what they want to be different, and what may be getting in the way of change. This approach is especially helpful when a client feels unsure, overwhelmed, or pulled in different directions. I use it to support self-reflection, strengthen confidence, and help clients take steps that fit their own values and goals.
Strength-Based
I use a strengths-based approach to help clients recognize the abilities, values, and resilience they already have, even when they feel worn down or unsure of themselves. Rather than focusing only on what is wrong, we also look at what has helped the client keep going, what they want to build on, and how they can use their strengths in practical ways.

Veronica always listens without judgement. I love that she will challenge me and make me dig deep for the hard answers. She is always positive but always keeps it real and I definitely respect that.

Veronica is intuitive and listens for what is said and un-said. She is warm and from the onset, non-judgmental. She is a forward thinker, and picks up on issues that need to be addressed with solution-based processes.
