I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been practicing for over 10 years. I graduated from Indiana University with my Masters in 2013. I work with my clients on addressing their individual needs as well as equipping them with the tools (skills) they need to be successful. I enjoy learning what motivates my clients so that we can collaborate together to set realistic goals and I am transparent with my clients and work together as a team. I strive to provide a safe and encouraging space for my clients to work toward growth and healing.
In our first session we'll start with brief introductions, then engage in discussion on your specific needs and challenges. We will work to create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years. This has provided me with a diverse background in working with many needs. This experience will allow us to work together to identifying the cause of your challenges as well as triggers for increased symptoms. It also allows me to assist you on creating your personalized plan for treatment that has measurable goals.
Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, family conflict, grief and loss, or trauma? Are negative thoughts and self-doubt preventing you from making changes in your life? Do you feel like you are missing out on everyday joys? You don't have to continue to live this way!! I have worked with my clients on resolving these issues.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. It's widely used to treat conditions like anxiety, depression, and PTSD, empowering individuals to develop healthier coping mechanisms and improve their overall well-being.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on teaching individuals skills to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and tolerate distress. It's commonly used to treat conditions like borderline personality disorder, but also helps with depression, anxiety, and substance use, by emphasizing mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is client-centered and aims to improve motivation for behavioral change by exploring and resolving ambivalence. It's often used in addiction treatment, but also effectively addresses other health-related behaviors like diet, exercise, and medication adherence, by fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
