You may be trying to keep things together while feeling anxious, down, emotionally exhausted, or unsure how to get back to feeling like yourself. Maybe past experiences are still affecting you, relationships have become difficult to navigate, or you're struggling to understand why you keep reacting in ways you don't want to. For teens, this can look like withdrawing, feeling misunderstood, struggling at school, or having emotions that feel difficult to manage. For parents, it may mean trying to support your child while also feeling unsure of what to do next. I work with those navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationships. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for many years with a variety of work experiences including; Inpatient Psychiatric Social Work, individual and group therapy in Addiction treatment, and high school counseling with teens and parents.
First session
I believe therapy works best when we're partners in the process. My role is to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and decisions so we can recognize patterns that may be contributing to what you're experiencing. Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, talk about what's bringing you to therapy, and identify what you hope will be different. I want you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable being honest. Together, we'll create a plan centered around your goals and take the next steps at a pace that feels manageable. I expect my clients to take ownership of their treatment as we work in partnership together to solve problems. "Homework" is often recommended in between sessions whether it be to research and learn about different topics, complete worksheets or workbooks, or practice techniques learned during sessions, with every bit of it designed to aid in your growth and understanding of yourself.
Strengths
My greatest strength lies in my profound empathy—not just as a passive clinical skill, but as an active, resonant force that makes people feel truly seen and understood. I have an intuitive ability to listen between the words, catching the subtle shifts in tone and posture that reveal what a client might be struggling to articulate. Balancing this warmth with gentle, direct candor, I guide individuals through their vulnerabilities without judgment, acting as a collaborative partner in their healing. I am able to tailor my approach to the unique rhythm of each person, meeting them exactly where they are. Ultimately, my practice is defined by this authentic human connection, empowering clients to discover their own resilience and path forward.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are individuals who do well in a structured, practical, and collaborative environment, wanting clear objectives and measurable progress. They are willing to practice new skills and complete homework outside of sessions, preferring to solve current, everyday problems. They respond well to identifying, challenging, and rewiring specific negative thought patterns. Common presenting issues may include: Anxiety Disorders: Generalized anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, or specific phobias. Depressive Symptoms: Caught in cycles of negative self-talk, low motivation, and behavioral withdrawal. Stress Management: Overwhelmed by work, life transitions, or situational stressors. Habit Reversal: Looking to break specific destructive behavioral loops or compulsions.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is a structured, goal-oriented talk therapy focused on how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect.. Our thoughts and beliefs influence our emotions and behaviors. Recognizing and understanding ones one’s thought patterns allows for mindfulness to make positive changes in those thinking patterns. Changing negative thought patterns changes destructive behaviors and emotional distress. Therapy targets current problems and symptoms. Clients learn practical coping tools to manage stress, anxiety, and depression.
Eclectic
My practice is rooted in an integrative, client-centered approach that honors your unique story and goals. Rather than forcing you into a single therapeutic box, I thoughtfully blend evidence-based modalities to support your mind, emotions, and daily actions. To cultivate emotional resilience and self-compassion, I weave in elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), teaching you how to navigate difficult emotions without feeling overwhelmed. At the same time, I ground our work in humanistic and somatic awareness, recognizing that true healing requires safety in both your mind and your body. By combining these diverse tools, we create a flexible, collaborative space where you can gain deep self-understanding while building actionable skills for everyday life.
