New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Mental Health Counselor who provides compassionate, culturally responsive therapy. As a bilingual therapist, I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, life stressors, major transitions, women's issues, and parenting challenges. I am especially passionate about supporting women and parents who may feel overwhelmed or stretched by the demands of daily life. My goal is to create a supportive and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. Together, we work to build practical coping skills, strengthen emotional well-being, and help clients move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In your first session with me, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and understanding your unique experiences and goals. You can expect a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where you’ll be able to share what’s on your mind at your own pace. We’ll discuss your current concerns, any history that feels important to share, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. Together, we’ll begin exploring strategies and coping tools that fit your needs, and I’ll answer any questions you have about the therapy process. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and supported from the very beginning, so we can start building a plan that empowers you to move forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strengths as a therapist are my ability to create a warm, supportive environment and to build genuine, trusting relationships with my clients. I believe that feeling safe, heard, and understood is a crucial part of the healing process, and I work intentionally to make therapy a space where clients feel comfortable being their authentic selves. As a bilingual therapist, I am able to work with clients in both English and Spanish, which allows me to connect more deeply with individuals who may feel more comfortable expressing themselves in their native language. I also bring a culturally responsive and trauma-informed perspective to my work, recognizing how cultural background, family dynamics, and life experiences shape each person’s story. I have experience working with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and parenting stress. I enjoy helping clients develop practical coping strategies while also gaining deeper insight into their emotions, patterns, and strengths. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on empowering clients to create meaningful and lasting change in their lives.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal clients are individuals who may feel overwhelmed by life’s demands but are motivated to better understand themselves and create meaningful change. I work especially well with women, parents, and adolescents who are navigating stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, or the emotional challenges that can come with balancing multiple roles and responsibilities. I also work effectively with clients who are bilingual in Spanish and English, providing support in the language that feels most comfortable to you. If you’re looking for a supportive space to process your experiences, learn healthier coping strategies, and feel more confident managing life’s challenges, we may be a great fit. Together, we can work toward helping you feel more balanced, empowered, and connected in your daily life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is an evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and developing healthier, more balanced ways of thinking and responding to life’s challenges. In my practice, I use CBT to help clients recognize negative thought patterns, build practical coping skills, and develop strategies to manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and other life challenges. I work collaboratively with clients to set realistic goals, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and practice new skills that can improve daily functioning and overall well-being.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT is a skills-based approach that focuses on helping individuals develop practical tools to regulate emotions, tolerate distress, improve interpersonal effectiveness, and increase mindfulness. In my practice, I incorporate DBT by helping clients identify patterns that contribute to emotional dysregulation and guiding them in learning and practicing specific skills to respond more effectively to difficult situations. I often use techniques such as mindfulness exercises, distress tolerance strategies, and emotion regulation skills to help clients build awareness of their thoughts and feelings while learning healthier ways to cope.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I am committed to providing culturally sensitive therapy that honors each client’s unique cultural background, values, and lived experiences. My experience working with diverse individuals and families has strengthened my ability to recognize how culture, identity, family systems, and social context influence mental health and the therapeutic process. In my practice, I approach therapy with curiosity, humility, and openness, recognizing that clients are the experts of their own experiences. I work collaboratively with clients to ensure that interventions and treatment goals align with their cultural values and personal identities. This allows therapy to feel more relevant, empowering, and supportive of each client’s overall well-being.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I incorporate mindfulness-based therapy to help clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts and emotions in the present moment without judgment. My experience using mindfulness in therapy includes helping clients manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional overwhelm. Through mindfulness practices such as grounding exercises, breathing techniques, and guided awareness, clients learn to slow down automatic reactions and respond to challenges with greater clarity and self-compassion.
Trauma Informed Care
I integrate trauma-informed principles by prioritizing safety, trust, collaboration, and client choice in sessions. I am mindful of how past experiences may influence current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and I work with clients at a pace that feels comfortable for them. My approach focuses on helping individuals build coping skills, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop a deeper understanding of how trauma may be affecting their lives. Through this lens, I support clients in processing difficult experiences, increasing resilience, and fostering a greater sense of control and healing in their lives.
