Hello, my name is Tish. I've had the privilege of being a licensed therapist for twenty years. Through my career, I've with diverse populations within various types of environments from psychiatric hospitals, juvenile correctional facilities, to outpatient mental health clinics. I believe that my multitudinous career path has enabled me to develop strong clinical skills. My life's motto is..."Live An Intentional Life"! My goal, for each of my clients, is to lead them to the path of overcoming any obstacle that may be standing in their way of intentional living.
During the initial session, I like to gain as much history or background information as possible. By using a narrative format, I ask open-ended questions regarding family history, vocational/school history, medical/mental health diagnoses, and presenting concerns or issues. If a person has engaged in therapy previously, I ask about the person's experiences (good or bad) during previous counseling. At this end of the initial session, I explain my theoretical foundation as a therapist (CBT) and well as my personal approach (strengths-based perspective).
I am an active listener. I'm non-judgmental. I try to create a safe space for my clients to willing disclose the feelings, thoughts, and beliefs.
I desire to work with people who are open-minded and willing to put forth the effort to try out new principles and strategies.
Tish White offers therapy covered by Managed Health Services (Managed Medicaid), Medicaid - Managed Health Services and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Indiana.
For over twenty years I have help people manage/control their emotions and change problematic behavioral patterns by changing the way that they think.
