Hi Welcome! Are you struggling to cope with life changes such as divorce or career shift? Are anxious negative thoughts consuming your day to day and not permitting you to focus on the here and now? Do you find yourself being highly self critical, or struggling to communicate your needs in a relationship? I am a therapist with 6+ years of experience with individuals across the life span struggling with varying challenges but with a current interest to support adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression and empowering women as they navigate women specific issues such as gender roles in relationships and self esteem. I strive to develop a secure, healthy environment where clients feel seen, heard and safe enough to be emotionally vulnerable. Together, we will identify your goals and work towards making positive changes within yourself and in your life. **I am part of a group private practice physically based in Cambridge, MA. I do not utilize the Grow Therapy platform for sessions. If you're interested in working together, please schedule a phone consultation so we can discuss the next steps. Thank you!**
During the intake session, we will go further into your presenting concerns, gather general information about diagnostic symptoms and different life areas. We will review your goals for therapy and my recommendations. Sometimes this means discussing other treatment options and a referral if my clinical recommendation is that I am not the best fit to meet your needs and/or require a higher level of care.
I'm a firm believer in transparency and in therapy being a collaborative effort which helps to foster a safe space to explore difficult emotions.
I enjoy working with clients that are motivated and are an active participant in their therapy.
CBT is a useful tool to help you identify reoccurring maladaptive thinking patterns contributing to emotional distress, and the connection between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Together we will identify these patterns to shift your thinking, make behavioral changes, learn practical coping skills and overall enact positive changes in your life. I may introduce worksheets to facilitate the practice of skills in between sessions.
I enjoy coupling CBT with a psychodynamic perspective to help clients develop deeper understanding of themselves and their past in order to gain insight into present experiences, behaviors, and emotions. Together we will explore your early life experiences, relationships and uncover any defense mechanisms.
