New to Grow
I am a passionate and caring therapist who is deeply engaged with my clients. I believe every session is a unique opportunity to better understand what brought you into therapy and what you hope to change. I know that starting therapy can feel scary, and change can feel overwhelming. That’s why I move at your pace. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. You don’t have to face difficult experiences alone. Together, we can gently explore what’s been weighing on you and begin building a path forward that feels manageable and empowering.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, I’ll focus on understanding what you would like to address in treatment. If there is a current crisis or urgent concern, we will take care of that first. From there, we will begin creating a plan for the other challenges you’d like to work on. I want you to feel safe and comfortable from the start. You are welcome to ask questions and share any concerns so we can decide together if we are a good fit. Building trust is important, and that begins in our first conversation.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am an active and engaged therapist. I won’t simply sit quietly and listen. I will ask thoughtful questions, connect patterns in what you share, and gently explore thoughts and feelings that may be hard to put into words. My goal is to help you gain insight while also feeling supported and understood.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work closely with individuals who are struggling with post-traumatic stress and the lasting impact of trauma. Many of my clients experience depression, anxiety, and difficulty trusting others because of past experiences. These challenges can affect daily life, relationships, and overall well-being. Healing begins with feeling safe. Learning to trust me with your story is often the first step. From there, we can work together to reduce symptoms, rebuild trust, and help you move toward a more stable and fulfilling life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as a form of treatment that assists in treating a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. I use charts, journaling, and assignments for my clients to do introspective work in between sessions.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT as a structured therapy that focuses on teaching four core skills (mindfulness, acceptance & distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness) to help you create a good life for yourself. You work on those skills through a series of lessons and then start applying them to your life.
EMDR
I use this method primarily used to help individuals process and recover from traumatic experiences. EMDR integrates elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy with bilateral stimulation, often through guided eye movements. I utilize this method when treating trauma survivors who are struggling with for treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related conditions.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I utilize this approach when helping clients identify goals and practical solutions rather than analyzing problems. This approach focuses on addressing what clients want to achieve without exploring the history and provenance of problem(s)
