New to Grow
Welcome! This is a space that is truly yours. I personally know how much courage it takes to start this journey. With a gentle pace and a listening ear, I will cultivate a safe environment to support you. My journey to become a therapist began with my own experience with family therapy. I know the innate resilience and wisdom we all carry within us. Trauma, loss, family conflict, anxiety, chronic pain, and chronic illness have been part of my story, helping me deeply understand yours. I bring a rich experience from hospital and school settings to the therapy room.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Healing happens in spaces where you feel safe, seen, and accepted. We'll set this tone from the first session together. I'll go at your pace to find the right rhythm and we'll start with what's the most pressing concern for you right now. We'll start the process of getting to know each other as we discuss your concerns and goals. Toward the end, we will discuss therapy policies and procedures. I'll also check in at the end to see if you want to book your next appointment together and decide on a schedule.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My communication style is warm, affirming, and empowering. Creating a safe and authentic connection together is my top priority. As someone with lived experience in many of these same issues, I will be your fiercest advocate, offering validation, compassion, and insight. Together, we will improve your nervous system regulation. I will be sure to learn what works best for you as we begin to explore your personal journey toward growth and healing. I see therapy as a partnership where we develop goals that align with your wishes and values. These may include improving coping mechanisms, reducing symptoms, strengthening relationships, or reducing fear around chronic pain and illness. We will revisit your goals over time to ensure we address them fully and adjust accordingly. I look forward to working together to make meaningful changes in your life!
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
You deserve a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without pressure to filter yourself. Sometimes we don't have that place or person for ourselves, especially if you're a mom. If you are feeling stuck in relationship patterns that are leaving you feeling undervalued, unfulfilled, or overstretched- you are not alone. Maybe you are feeling anxious, disconnected, or struggling with chronic pain or illness. Chronic pain and illness can be so isolating. I am passionate about providing therapy for people experiencing anxiety, stress, grief, relationship issues, perinatal mental health, as well as chronic illness and pain.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
We will use cognitive behavioral therapy to examine thoughts and reframe negative thinking patterns. This will help us uncover patterns, improve self compassion, and reduce cognitive distortions.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
When using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, we increase your acceptance of feelings, create separation from thoughts, and identify core actionable values. This looks like making sure your life is in alignment with your values, being mindful of your feelings, and exploring your thoughts or curiosities.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Together we'll use EFT to hold your emotions in ways they may have never been heard or seen before. We will focus on how an emotion is showing up for you presently in session and in patterns with your relationships.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness-Based Therapy will be used to help you be more aligned with your connection between your mind and body. We will begin to sense emotions in our bodies as they arise and we will co-create safety physically to regulate your nervous system.
Compassion Focused
With Compassion Focused Therapy, we combine compassion with mindfulness. This will help bring more awareness to being kinder to yourself. Think of it as befriending yourself.
