Hello! I'll get right to the point - these are the main issues I specialize in: 1. TRAUMA/PTSD. This includes all types of trauma (physical, sexual, emotional, psychological) and residual trauma symptoms (OCD, anxiety, depression). 2. OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDERS. This includes all types of OCD, uncertainty, and doubt. PLEASE NOTE: Talk therapy is NOT a suitable treatment for OCD. I use a combination of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), as well as Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) to assist me in my work with OCD cases. 3. SELF/RELATIONSHIP ISSUES, including: a. CODEPENDENCY (i.e. people pleasing, inability to say no, fear of upsetting others, lack of assertiveness, chronic feelings of obligation). b. PSYCHOLOGICAL ABUSE (manipulative friends, family, romantic partners, controlling relationships, cults, abusive churches, workplace bullying, hazing, sexual coercion, undue influence, toxic people of all kinds). c. IDENTITY CONCERNS (poor boundaries, lack of purpose/identity, career and higher education concerns, narcissism, former cult members). 4. SCHIZOID PERSONALITY DISORDER. (Extreme introversion, rich fantasy life, asexual spectrum, anhedonia and avolition, existential dread, abstract thinking, repressed emotions/flat affect, hyper-protective of one's autonomy and agency, rejection of interpersonal relationships.) Do any of these describe you or your situation? If so, I'd love to meet you and talk about how we can work together to overcome your struggles. Feel free to browse through my profile and if you feel so inclined, make an appointment so we can work toward restoring balance to your world again.

Since 2011, I have pursued the field of Psychology and Mental Health with great passion. Throughout this time, I have had the privilege and honor of working with diverse populations with an approach that focuses on the individual. I continue to gain insight, knowledge and skills within the field of Mental Health and recognize the importance of continuing education. I am, and have always been drawn to understanding the human condition and behaviors that may contribute to an individual’s personal struggle. I believe that the therapeutic process is highly beneficial and effective in providing healing, self-insight, wisdom, understanding, acceptance, knowledge and so much more. I have found that utilizing multiple therapeutic approaches allows for individuality within treatment and the therapeutic relationship. I typically utilize concepts related to Depth Psychology, Mindfulness Practices, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT); Motivational Interviewing (MI); Solution Focused Therapy, and Existential therapy. It is my understanding that all behavior is purposeful and allows an individual to obtain personal needs and desires. However, at times, these behaviors may be maladaptive and cause an individual distress. Through the therapeutic process we will explore these patterns and discover ways in which an individual can live a rewarding and meaningful life.

I am a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is here to be a listening ear and talk through the issues bothering you. However, there also comes a time in the session where we will roll up our sleeves and collaborate to take concrete action towards positive change. This may involve learning about new skill in session. It may mean implementing new skills in between sessions. The goal is to create real change and find your peace.

Welcome! Come on in, I’m glad you’re here. The challenges of life can be overwhelming; the past making the present feel like less of a gift. You may feel stuck, like it’s impossible to move forward. Life transitions have a way of stirring up emotions and throwing you off balance. This mounting weight can impact your relationships, work, social life, and everything around you. I want you to know that you don’t have to face all of this alone. Together we can create a plan to help you feel better and achieve the changes you are seeking. Here, you will have a safe place to learn and to grow to overcome the challenges you face. We will work together to establish a genuine connection. I believe this is the most important part of therapy. I value honesty and transparency in our work together, without which movement and authentic change cannot occur. For therapy to work, you have to feel understood and heard by your therapist. I will work with you to alleviate hesitancy about therapy and fear of vulnerability. I will frequently check in with you to ensure the therapy process is working for you and ask how our relationship can be improved. This collaboration will empower you to make the changes you need in your life. You will have more control over your decisions. Regardless of your “why,” whether trauma, marriage or relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief, loss, or life transitions, I’m honored to be here for you. We will get through this together.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by New York rather than a city like New York City?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across New York from Buffalo to Rochester! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in New York.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Anger Management?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Anger Management, is filtering therapists in New York that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
