New to Grow
I have eight years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in the education field and therapeutic world. I have experience treating children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). I also have experience in helping adults suffering from Bipolar Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), and Depression, along with helping adults navigate life changes and other related stressors.
When working with all of my clients, building a connection and relationship is the main priority during the first couple of sessions.
I believe in getting to know your client fully, while also giving the space for my client to know their therapist as well. I take a holistic, cognitive behavioral approach, incorporating a variety of modalities, including play therapy and talk therapy.
Life changes hit everyone differently. Being open to seeking help is the ideal mindset clients should have to receive that help. Having an open mindset about change and being able to accept that help makes clients one step closer to achieving their goals. With children, parents being able to accept the help for their child and have willingness to change or adapt to their child’s needs, will benefit the growth of the child.
During this process, the client and clinician come together and collaborate on a plan. It is a strength based, change focused, and evocative approach.
