New to Grow
Hello! My name is Nichole and I have been a therapist for over 15 years. I have worked with many populations over the course of my career including children, teens, young adults, and beyond. I bring a compassionate and introspective presentation to our sessions so you can feel seen, empathized with, and most importantly, heard. I have spoekn at conferences, schools, written articles on women's mental health and lifestyle, and also have written ESA letters for appropriate clients. I hope through working with me, you can find peace, education, trust and space to be yourself.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
You can expect to be met with a friendly demeanor, and genuine openness. First session is usually some housekeeping if not explained in any written policy. Sometimes it's a simple "what brings you here today" or sometimes it's a more "tell me about yourself, what's going on, and what you need right now".
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am very personable, healing and clinical. I tend to be highly interested in the science of mental health and will explain to you to the best of my ability what is going on with brain and behaviors. My approaches are that of a CBT one where I look at your thinking and hear of any patterns in your behavior. I do not confront in a judgmental way but I do ask questions that may sound uncomfortable - however, I do it in a where you don't have to feel or be afraid, as no one is in trouble in therapy. I also use art integratively, and I have been known to let clients lie down while having a session (if they want) paying homage to the old "couch" method.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I would love to work with clients who are open minded on their situations, willing to work on themselves no matter what stage they are at in their lives, be comfortable with me to laugh at times, and to cry if needed; I really like working with clients who commit to themselves in therapy so that they don't have to be in therapy long term. We can determine that together.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have used this in my practice for 10 years. I examine if the client is the right person for CBT and through psychoeducation, handouts (if necessary), and in session practice, CBT can be a positive change.
Attachment-based
Attachement based helps us identify why aniety, depression, and other disorders are prevalent.
Reality Therapy
Grounding and exploring the reality of situations helps immensely when dealing with anxiety and delusional thinking.
