EMILIA has training in treating children, teens and adults including those with developmental disabilities throughout life phases. She has experience using trauma focused therapy and grief therapy for survivors and caregivers. She specializes in applying CBT and mindfulness skills to help with stress-reduction, sleep and focus. Many people see an improvement within the first few sessions when using tools taught in session. Sometimes, client feel a large sense of relieve after the first session because of my approach to listen and validate.
First session is meant to hear about what brought you into therapy today, your history with therapy, and your goals. We may dive deeper into your history as it pertains to your treatment. I will inform you of the best approach we will take for your treatment.
I approach sessions like a class when needed because when clients feel knowledgeable and empowered, they are more likely to benefit more from services. I use all my training to help you understand how grief and trauma impacts thoughts and actions. I believe people are more than just the events that happen to them and that people are trying to improve.
An ideal partnership is a proactive client willing to learn and apply therapy skills outside of sessions. Therapy is not always easy and being aware that this is a tool to self-improvement is key to growth.
I specialize in grief therapy after training in this area and experience in treating all ages in this topic. I help client understand the grief process and find their own path in their grief journey. Healing is unique to everyone.
I used a combination on TIC And TF-CBT to help client in their healing path. Trauma recovery is different for everyone. My role as your trauma therapist is to offer a safe space to freely discuss your story in order to be to process it and move forward with your future. First step in trauma therapy is to be able to teach and use emotion regulation skills, so you are able to feel calm and safe again. Once you've mastered the skills of relaxation and identified your safe spaces, we can delve into the trauma narrative and find better ways of managing the effects of the trauma.
