New to Grow
Hi, I’m Ambar, a licensed clinical social worker who supports individuals navigating stress, relationship challenges, trauma, and life transitions. My approach is grounded, collaborative, and culturally attuned, blending evidence-based methods with practical tools you can use both inside and outside of session. Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck in repeating patterns, or disconnected from themselves or others. Together, we slow things down, build awareness, and explore the emotions and beliefs shaping those experiences. I focus on helping you understand your internal world while strengthening skills for emotional regulation, communication, and resilience. I draw from mindfulness-based techniques, emotionally focused therapy, and insight-oriented approaches to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel seen, supported, and challenged in a compassionate way. My goal is to help you gain clarity, interrupt automatic reactions, and move toward more intentional choices and healthier relationships. Whether you’re seeking relief from anxiety, healing from past experiences, or greater confidence in your day-to-day life, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, respect, and a commitment to your growth.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In your first session, you can expect a calm, welcoming space where you’re encouraged to share at your own pace. We’ll start by getting to know one another, talking about what brought you to therapy, and discussing the goals you’d like to work toward. I’ll ask a few questions to understand your experiences and patterns, and together we’ll identify what feels most important to focus on moving forward. You won’t be pressured to dive into anything you’re not ready for — the first session is about connection, understanding, and laying a foundation for the work ahead. By the end, you’ll have a clearer sense of how we might work together and what steps can support the changes you’re hoping to create. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and a little more grounded than when you arrived.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the combination of warmth, clarity, and practical skill-building. Clients often appreciate that I help them slow down, understand their emotional patterns, and develop tools they can use immediately—without feeling overwhelmed or judged. My work blends insight-oriented exploration with mindfulness-based and relational techniques, which helps create lasting shifts rather than quick fixes. I focus on helping clients feel more grounded, confident, and connected, both to themselves and to others. Because sessions are collaborative and tailored to each person’s needs, clients experience therapy as both supportive and empowering. Many notice improved emotional regulation, clearer communication, and a greater sense of calm and self-awareness over time.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I’m best positioned to support individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck in repeating patterns, or disconnected in their relationships. I work well with clients who are seeking greater emotional awareness, improved communication, and more consistent self-regulation. My clients often come in wanting to understand the roots of their reactions, heal from past experiences, or build confidence and calm in their day-to-day lives. I’m especially helpful for those who are motivated to explore their emotions, slow down automatic responses, and develop practical skills that support healthier relationships and internal balance. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, stress, trauma-related concerns, or relationship challenges, I provide a safe, collaborative space where insight and skill-building go hand in hand.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I draw from cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based methods to help clients notice unhelpful patterns and develop new ways of coping. In sessions, clients can expect a mix of reflection, skill-building, and supportive accountability. This approach helps create lasting shifts in how clients respond to stress, relationships, and difficult emotions.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
In my work with EFT, I guide clients in exploring the emotions and attachment needs underlying their reactions and relationship patterns. This method helps clients feel seen, grounded, and empowered to shift out of old cycles and create healthier, more connected interactions. I use EFT to foster deeper self-awareness and more secure emotional bonds.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I use Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help clients build awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical cues in the moment. By slowing down and noticing patterns without judgment, clients gain clarity and develop healthier responses to stress, conflict, and overwhelm. This method supports emotional regulation and creates space for more intentional choices.
