Welcome to my practice, Inspired Life Psychology PLLC! My name is Joanne and I am a clinical psychologist based in New York. I have been practicing for 6 years and specialize in behavior change, goal achievement/ motivation, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, stress management, and navigating life transitions. Whether or not we connect, I truly hope you take a moment to acknowledge yourself for taking this big step towards growth, healing, and flourishing~

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for me to learn about the challenges you're facing so that we can create a plan for working toward your personal goals. We will go at whatever pace feels comfortable for you, and I invite you to ask any clarifying questions throughout our sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I lean into both the art and science of therapy, empowering others with evidence-based techniques to design happier, healthier, and more values-based lives. I myself have a deep passion for self-development! It is incredibly important to me that my clients feel safe and supported, so I prioritize warmth and encouragement every step of the way!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I lean into both the art and science of therapy, empowering individuals with evidence-based techniques to design happier, healthier, and more values-based lives, primarily using CBT. Collaboratively, we identify goals and then work to edit environments, mold behaviors, restructure thoughts, and re-write narratives to create positive internal and external change.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In my practice, I use ACT to help clients embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for them. I guide clients to develop psychological flexibility through mindfulness and behavior change strategies, which help them live a life aligned with their values despite difficult emotions or thoughts. This approach empowers clients to accept their internal experiences and commit to actions that lead to a more fulfilling life.
