Greetings! I’m a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in Virginia. I received my MS in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. Although I recently became an LPC this year, I was formally trained and have worked as a Functional Family Therapy Counselor and Qualified Mental Health Counselor (for Adults and Children) since 2017. I also hold a Master of Education in Special Education and have worked for over 15 years as a Special Educator and Administrator.
Since 2022, I have been an outpatient therapy clinician who has seen clients from a variety of backgrounds, ages, and mental health needs.
Welcome to Grow Therapy I'm so happy that you reached out for help. I am Juanita Haskins and I am a licensed mental health and substance abuse practitioner in Virginia. You can read more about my background, education, experience, and therapy approach by clicking on my name on this page. If you would like to proceed and schedule an appointment, feel free to review my schedule and select an appointment time that is convenient for you. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
I am from Washington, DC. I have 14 years of experience in the therapy field. I am passionate about creating a safe space to begin your healing journey. I am
able to meet you where you are and empowers healthy decision making. I am innovative, creative and uses cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, solution-focused, and strengths-based approaches to provide a therapeutic experience with my clients.
Greetings to you and all
With a wish for good health and peace in your life.
My name is Sherby John. I have been working and learning along this journey, we call life, just as you have.
It can be a journey filled with joy and struggle. Have you reached a point where it seems there is more struggle than joy or feel stuck in the muck that seems to only get deeper or harder to transgress?
Then maybe it is time to find new paths and options by having a guide on this journey. Therapy can be a vehicle for change and development of workable tools to assist in continuing with this journey. Whether you are dealing with Depression, Life changes, Anxiety, Relationships, Trauma, or a new medical or mental health diagnosis, therapy can be a useful mechanism for support, discernment, and information.
I would like to provide you with a safe and welcoming environment and space to relieve yourself of these stressors through working on alternatives to current reactions to triggers or stressors in the way of continuing your journey, your way and at your own pace.
Come in.
Lets Talk.
Lets get to work.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience providing evidence-based, trauma-focused therapy to adults seeking emotional stability, personal growth, and meaningful change. My work is grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), supporting clients in building emotional awareness, psychological flexibility, and resilience.
I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic stress, and emotional dysregulation. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and integrative, combining talk therapy with hands-on, skills-based interventions that clients can actively practice both in and outside of session. Treatment focuses on emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, values-based decision-making, and healthier interpersonal functioning.
I believe therapy is most effective when it is structured, supportive, and empowering. I work closely with clients to identify treatment goals, increase emotional insight, and develop practical tools that help them manage overwhelming emotions, reduce reactivity, and respond more intentionally to life’s challenges. Clients often describe my style as direct, compassionate, and focused on real-world application.
My goal is to help clients feel more grounded, confident, and equipped to manage anxiety, stress, depression, and emotional dysregulation while fostering long-term stability and personal growth.
I am a psychotherapist who works with a diverse population of people. My goal is to collaborate with individuals to assist them in achieving their therapy goal(S). My treatment modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and Ericksonian hypnotherapy approaches. Although I used these modalities, I do not use a one size fits all approach. I am a think-out-of-the-box clinician that will often challenge clients to try approaches that may be out of their comfort zone. Some examples of my experience include working with individual clients on developing skills in coping with mental health conditions/diagnosis, life stress, finding balance, and improving self-esteem. Although I use these approaches, my clients tell me it feels like we are having a conversation as opposed to feeling like they are in a therapy session. I have a specialization in working with Veterans, LGBTQI, men, and people of color populations. However, I work with all people who are seeking mental health services. I am licensed in DC (LICSW), VA (LCSW), MD (LCSW-C), and PA (LCSW). I have BS in Human Ecology, BA in Humanities from The Ohio State University, MSW from San Jose State University and Post Masters fellowship in mental health from Stanford University.
If you can read this, you made the first step. Congratulations. Seeking therapy is hard. Most people delay and tell themselves that whatever they are experiencing must be the way life is. Chances are if you have reached the point to begin exploring therapy, counseling can help make your life better. While therapy is often hard, it can be an enjoyable and uplifting experience as well. I believe that you cannot laugh without a combination of insight and relief. You can expect some humor in most sessions.
I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 20 years. In that time I have worked with men, women, teens, and families on a wide variety of issues. Sometimes that work simply involved helping them through a particular incident or life change that overwhelmed them. Other times our work together centered around longstanding issues of depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction.
In addition to traditional cognitive behavioral therapy, I also offer a fourth-wave therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). I have found this technique to be highly effective in helping people with trauma and or anxiety. Our minds and bodies are connected. Anyone who has experienced a tight neck and shoulders or an upset stomach when they were stressed knows this. EFT uses acupressure (done by the client) and cognitive interventions to provide fast and effective relief.
With over 20 years of clinical experience, I am ready to help you through the challenges you are facing. In addition to counseling, I also provide vocational testing, coaching, and consulting.
I provide both Christian and secular counseling depending on the needs of my clients.
For clients with high level confidentiality concerns due to corporate or clearance issues, there are ways we can do EFT without you ever speaking out loud about events.

I am Dr. George Stallings. I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over 18 years of experience, proudly serving clients in Maryland and Virginia. I hold a Master’s degree from Towson University, PhD Capella University, and specialize in supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My goal is to help clients gain clarity, build resilience, and move toward becoming their most authentic and empowered selves.
First of all, I love what I do and to witness the positive changes clients make in their lives as a result of choosing therapy to help them accomplish what they want. Often the goal is to achieve symptom relief so as to not be overwhelmed by anxiety, mood disorders or be better able to manage the challenges of ADHD. Sometimes there is not a specific outcome identified but a need for ongoing support for dealing with life transitions or difficult people. Sometimes clients use therapy as a confidential sounding board where they can talk to an objective outsider about situations and sort out their perspective. I offer various ways to see and respond to situations that might otherwise not be considered. Your opinion as a client is the most important one and I will also honestly provide mine when asked for. I believe therapy can actually be something that you can look forward to and an opportunity to learn new skills to use long after you discontinue, and we can even have some fun and laughs along the journey.
