I am an experienced Psychotherapist (25 years) who is licensed to provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families. I am a graduate of Northwestern University (where I was awarded an Honorarium), The Family Institute at Northwestern University, and The Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis. While completing my graduate studies, I was chosen to be mentored by several of the top Family Therapy Theorists in the United States. I have taught at Northwestern University, as well as, Lake Forest College as a faculty member. I have been a Clinical Fellow at the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy for over 20 years. My goals for each patient are individually thought out according to a collaboration between patient and therapist. I can teach you how to become your own best advocate. My objective as your therapist is to assist you in becoming the best you can be in the environment in which you live. People start to heal the moment they feel heard. I look forward to joining you as your therapist.
The first session is the time to share present challenges, history, background, family of origin information, and what the clients are seeking in therapy. "What brings you here" is often the theme of the first session.
