Hi, I'm Lauren! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor who believes therapy should be a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment. I am certified in EMDR, CBT, and trauma sensitive yoga therapy practices. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and life transitions. I also have a passion for supporting first responders, law enforcement professionals, and others in high-stress careers who often carry more than they let others see. My approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and tailored to your individual goals. Together, we'll build practical coping strategies, explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. Whether you're navigating a difficult season or simply looking to better understand yourself, I'm committed to helping you move forward with confidence and resilience

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The goal of our fist session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific you are having. This may include an assessment or two in order to get a good picture of what you want out of counseling. We will then end with coming up with goals that you wish to work on while working with me.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I help people understand how their experiences have shaped them, reconnect with who they are beneath survival mode, and build practical tools to move forward

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who has spent so much time surviving, caring for others, or pushing through difficult experiences that they've lost touch with who they are and are ready to reconnect with themselves. I enjoy helping people who feel like they've been living in survival mode understand how they got there, reconnect with who they are beneath those survival strategies, and move forward with greater confidence and purpose.

My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have used TF-CBT in addressing the mental health needs of children, adolescents, and adults suffering from the destructive effects of early trauma. TF-CBT is a short-term intervention that generally lasts anywhere from eight to 25 sessions. In sessions, I will utilize cognitive behavioral techniques to help modify distorted or unhelpful thinking and negative reactions and behaviors

Mind-body approach

I am working towards a certification as a Trauma Sensitive Yoga Therapy instructor. I rely heavily on this approach in my sessions as oftentimes clients lose their ability to connect back with their autonomy over themselves. Sessions with this approach will include guided breathing practices, grounding exercises, yoga practices. The emphasis is not on the external expression or appearance (i.e. doing it "right"), or receiving the approval of an external authority. Rather, the focus is on the internal experience of the participant.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I utilize SFBT daily with clients that I deal with in a crisis state. It allows them the chance to take back ownership and power in solving their own problems so that they are the heroes of their own stories. In practice, we will focus on finding solutions in the present and exploring one’s hope for the future in order to find a quick and realistic resolution of one’s problems.

EMDR

As an EMDR-trained therapist, I help clients process traumatic and distressing experiences to promote healing, reduce symptoms, and foster lasting emotional well-being.
