Hello! I am Wendy Theriot,MA,LPC. I spent years specializing in trauma-focused therapy and have worked in the private practice setting as well as treatment facility setting. This year I have taken a break from in-person therapy where I specialized in EMDR to more of a person-centered approach addressing men’s issues, as well as working mainly with with First Responders, Veterans, Active Duty personnel as well as couples. I guide the client in the direction of healing or self actualization incorporating Cognitive Processing , Jungian therapy and Attachment-Based therapy. “Jungian”refers to the psychological doctrines and analytical therapy developed by the Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. It helps to uncover hidden forces driving human behavior by integrating the conscious and unconscious mind, ultimately striving toward authenticity and personal wholeness. Attachment Based therapy is a form of counseling that explores how your early childhood relationships with primary caregivers shape your adult attachment style. In addition to individual therapy I have worked with couples using the Gottman Method. It is a structured, research-based approach to couples therapy developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. It aims to disarm conflicting verbal communication, increase intimacy and respect, and remove barriers. If you are seeing me through an EAP or have a limited amount of therapy sessions I also do Solution Focused Brief Therapy where we don’t look at the past as much as we look towards the future and what you want to envision. With my help you can get there.

I’m someone who understands how overwhelming it can feel to be caught in life’s in-between space, whether it’s the end of a relationship, the shift in a friendship, or the uncertainty of what comes after graduation. I work with adults who are often relied upon by others but sometimes struggle to support themselves. As a therapist and thought partner, I bring warmth, honesty, and curiosity into our work. I believe therapy is a place where you can take off the mask, slow down, and reconnect with who you are outside of expectations and pressure. Hello, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the states of Texas and Tennessee with 30 years of counseling and ministry experience. I began as a minister of the Gospel in the Southern Baptist tradition in 1993 working with the homeless to overcome the struggles of addiction and hopelessness in North Carolina and Tennessee. From there, I became a case manager in a rural oupatient behavioral health clinic helping the chronically mentally ill live independently outside of the institutional settings. As my family of five children grew, my wife encouraged me to join the military in 2007 and for the next 13 years we served alongside our Soldiers and their Families as a chaplain. There, I learned through experience how to work through the stress of multiple transitions, the unyeilding demands for time and energy, and the unjust nature of toxic environments. I learned how to support those who wanted to strengthen themselves and their relationships in these environments and to ultimately be at peace with who they are and who they want to be. As I have matured in my training and become licensed in marriage and family therapy, I have found that I now specialize in using Solution Focused therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help individuals identify their strengths and the beliefs that are guiding their behavior. With this knowledge, people can begin to choose who they want to be.

My name is David Mancuso, and at the heart of my work is a belief that every person carries an untold story—one shaped by survival, family dynamics, unspoken pain, and the longing to feel whole. I help clients reconnect with the parts of themselves they’ve had to silence in order to function. My approach blends depth-oriented psychotherapy with a direct, grounded style that invites honesty, clarity, and personal evolution. I draw from years of clinical practice, trauma-informed training, attachment theory, and my own lived experiences navigating complex family systems. Because of that background, I understand what it means to rebuild a self from the inside out. Clients often come to me during moments of transition, emotional exhaustion, identity confusion, or relational upheaval. They stay because our work helps them find their center again. While I bring a calm and steady presence, I also show up with real engagement. I don’t sit back passively—I’m interactive, reflective, and attuned to the subtle patterns that shape how you think, feel, and relate. Therapy with me is an active process of reconnecting with your original self, strengthening your internal structure, and learning to move through the world with more confidence, emotional clarity, and integrity. Above all, I care deeply about the people I work with. My intention is to offer a space where you feel understood, supported, and challenged in meaningful ways—so you can step into a more grounded, connected, and empowered version of yourself.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Houston, Texas with extensive experience in mental health treatment across diverse populations, especially ethnicity, gender, age, religious, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status. My journey in the mental health field began during my undergraduate studies, where I first became involved in victim advocacy. This experience deepened my understanding of social dynamics, (in)justice and human behavior, leading to dual bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Women’s Studies. While pursuing my graduate degree, I worked at the National Domestic Violence Hotline, further honing my skills in crisis intervention and critical thinking/problem-solving . After earning a Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin, I completed a post-graduate fellowship focused on psychiatric rehabilitation of veterans with severe mental illness. I further advanced my clinical skills when joining The Menninger Clinic staff, where I spent five years specializing in the treatment of business professionals facing mental health crises, young adults navigating the transition into adulthood, and clients experiencing severe mental health challenges, including suicidal ideation. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, after recognizing the urgent need for increased access to mental health care I established my private practice, Therapy by Ivy, PLLC. Since then I have offered individual telehealth sessions to adult clients seeking to improve their mental health and enhance their lives. In 2023, I expanded my practice to include in-person sessions while continuing to provide telehealth sessions. Based in the Houston Heights area, I am proud to offer flexible session options, accept most major insurance plans, and self-pay sliding fee for the uninsured or underinsured.
