My name is Brittney and I live here in Texas. I grew up in Texas and have lived her my entire life. I began my journey as a therapist in 2016 and love what I do. I work with pre-teens, teens, college students and all age range adults. We all go through difficult times in life and can find the need for extra support. While we may experience similarities in what we go through, the way it affects us and the way we work through struggles can look very different from person to person. I want to be able to support you alongside your journey in the way that fits you best. I am trained in several different approaches, and have found that once size does not fit all. My focus is on you as the client, because you know yourself best. Through getting to know you, we can collaboratively work together to establish goals to work towards along the way.
During the first session, we will start with introductions and just taking a little bit if time to get to know each other. We will discuss what brought you to seek therapy, along with what any specific challenges you are currently facing. Whatever you are comfortable with sharing, you are invited to provide as much detail as you are comfortable as it helps me to get a clearer picture of what is going on. This helps to provide a tailored plan specific to your needs to work through throughout other sessions.
As a provider, some of my greatest strengths are with being warm and welcoming from the very start. I want you to feel comfortable and that you are in a safe space and free to share whatever you would like. Another strength is that I recognize that in life we can often go through similar circumstances as others, but they affect us each differently. Because of this, I believe that there is not a 'one size fits all' approach, and I work to really listen and tailor the sessions around what can work best for you and what you are looking for.
I specialize in working with individuals who are experiencing anxiety and/or depression in their daily life and want change. Linked with this often includes individuals experiencing high stress, noticeable changes in relationships, and behaviors outside the norm. This can be overwhelming and leaving one uncertain on what to do. I will do my best to help you identify triggers and develop healthy coping skills. You are strong and sometimes all you need is the right tools to bring out that strength within you. I also work with those who are in a journey of grief. Grief can be difficult to explain to someone who has not experienced it, because it is a pain like no other. Sometimes having a support from someone is also on their own journey with living in grief can be helpful. Suffering my own loss, I can stand beside you and help be an ear to listen when you need it.

Using Person-centered approach provides a non-judgmental and safe space from the very start. With this approach, you will experience an environment with unconditional positive regard, an empathetic understanding, and genuineness. Person-centered therapy is an approach that goes at your own pace. Sessions can be focused around the needs you express as well as just an open space to talk. You are the focus.
Christian counseling is a Christ-centered, talk therapy approach. Christian counseling can be beneficial for one looking to incorporate more of a biblical, Christian base format of counseling. Christian counseling can be used with concerns such as self-esteem, stress, depression, anxiety, grief, relationships, spirituality, and many others.
My goal as a therapist is to provide support and encouragement alongside your journey of healing and growth. I aim to give a warm and welcoming environment from the very start. Using practical tools, support, and encouragement, I work alongside you. This form of therapy works great in building self-esteem, as well as working with personality disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc.
Positive psychology is a therapeutic approach focuses on improving the overall wellbeing. Using Positive Psychology helps to recognize strengths and weaknesses and focusing on what they are. Being able to learn from past mistakes and also reflect on things that have gone well can help to grow and heal.
Grief therapy can help to process any deep loss. Navigating grief is an on-going process that looks different for each individual. Sometimes it helps to just feel as though you are not alone in your grief. Going through my own personal grief journey, I can relate to the many emotions grief brings. Wherever you may be on your own journey with grief, having a safe space to turn to can help in taking those steps forward.
