I’m a warm, down-to-earth therapist with more than 15 years of experience helping people navigate anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, major life transitions, grief, burnout, emotional overwhelm, and the seasons of life when everything simply feels like a lot. My background is a little different from the traditional therapy path. I’ve worked in schools, community mental health, and crisis intervention settings. I’ve supported veterans, first responders, survivors of trauma and abuse, neurodivergent individuals, parents, professionals, and people facing some of life’s hardest moments. These experiences have taught me how to stay grounded when things feel chaotic and why it’s so important to see the whole person - not simply a diagnosis or list of symptoms. My style is conversational, collaborative, and practical. I’ll give you space to process, but I’m not a therapist who simply nods and asks, “How does that make you feel?” We’ll get curious about patterns, relationships, boundaries, past experiences, and the things that keep showing up in your life. We’ll explore where those patterns came from, how they affect you now, and what you may want to change. I believe insight is only part of the work. Together, we’ll develop practical strategies you can use outside of therapy to manage anxiety, regulate emotions, improve communication, strengthen relationships, establish boundaries, and navigate difficult seasons. You don’t need to know exactly what you need from therapy before you begin. Sometimes it starts with simply recognizing that something isn’t working anymore. My role isn’t to tell you how to live your life - it’s to help you understand yourself more clearly, build skills and confidence, and create meaningful change.

I believe every person has unique strengths, and together we will build upon those strengths while addressing the challenges that may be keeping you from living the life you desire. My Professional Background and Counseling Philosophy My passion for mental health has shaped my work with individuals, families, and communities across a variety of settings. Over the years, I have had the privilege of collaborating with clients to enhance their well-being, drawing on my experience across diverse settings, including hospital Emergency Departments, psychiatric units, community organizations, and mental health agencies. My professional journey includes supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, assisting those facing mental illness, and working with people who have experienced homelessness and hopelessness. I have also provided both individual and group therapy within clinical settings. Counseling Philosophy At the core of my counseling practice is the belief that meaningful change occurs through collaboration and purposeful effort. I view my clients as the experts in their own lives and encourage them to take an active role in their treatment by investing time and energy in the process. Together, we identify the outcomes that matter most to the client and work to ensure consistent progress toward those goals. My approach centers on empowering clients by fostering self-awareness and resilience, and I am dedicated to ensuring every individual feels heard, understood, and supported throughout their therapeutic journey. Commitment to Client Autonomy What distinguishes my counseling style is a steadfast commitment to honoring each client’s autonomy. For example, I have worked with clients who struggle with anxiety and self-doubt. By collaborating closely, we identify the client’s unique strengths and develop practical coping strategies tailored to their needs. As clients move through this process, they gradually regain their confidence and begin taking meaningful steps toward their desired outcomes. This experience reinforced for me the importance and effectiveness of a supportive, empowering therapeutic alliance. In every interaction, my focus is on achieving the best possible results and facilitating lasting, positive change.

Hi, I’m Marie — a therapist who believes that change is always possible, no matter where you are in life. My goal is to help you feel better emotionally, think more clearly, and move toward a future that feels fulfilling and peaceful. In our sessions, we’ll work together to understand what’s been holding you back and find practical ways to move forward. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you notice how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions—and teach you tools to shift negative thinking. I also use a solution-focused approach, which means we’ll focus on your strengths, celebrate what’s working, and create small, realistic steps that bring real progress. I often work with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or major life changes—like adjusting after a loss, a new diagnosis, or changes that come with getting older. My approach is supportive and empowering. I want you to feel heard, encouraged, and equipped with the tools to handle life’s challenges with more confidence and hope. As an immigrant and a bilingual therapist speaking both English and French, I understand the importance of culture, identity, and belonging. This lived experience allows me to better connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and support them through challenges related to identity, adjustment, and navigating different cultural expectations. My background helps me approach therapy with openness, cultural sensitivity, and a deep belief in the resilience of the human spirit.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
