What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together I work on rapport building. I create an atmosphere that allows the client and myself as a therapist to introduce and give a brief history of who we are and to talk about our lives. This will enable a comfortable and healthy atmosphere for therapy and then the client will feel at ease to introduce why he or she is in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is in rapport building, establish a therapeutic relationship and being able to help identify the clients' needs so that the right therapeutic intervention(s) is provided. From a person-centered approach, empathy is often need along with unconditional positive regard. In cognitive behavioral therapy, I identify the negative thoughts that may have triggered the client's symptoms and substitute it with positive thoughts in order to help decrease the symptoms of the client. Helping the client to grow, develop and establish responsibility helps them find some solution to the presenting problems or concerns. Clients are often needing answers and wanting solutions as well as results. This why psychoeducation is important because it helps the client to understand the disorder.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

Christian counseling is extremely effective. It opens the door for us to look within ourselves as a one who is full of faults, but can be restored by using love and providing showing the path of hope that they never had or thought existed.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive reframing helps to reshape the thinking of the client. This is extremely helpful and effective in therapy. In treatment we identify the negative thoughts that may have triggered the client's symptoms and substitute it with positive thoughts. This will allow the client overtime to reshape thought patterns in order to help decrease the symptoms.
