New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Certified Grief Informed Professional, and a doctoral scholar. I hold a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management, bringing together clinical expertise with a deep understanding of the personal, relational, and workplace challenges many people face. Throughout more than 30 years of service in behavioral health, human services, leadership, and counseling, I have had the privilege of helping individuals navigate some of life’s most difficult seasons with hope, resilience, and practical strategies for growth. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, caregiver stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, workplace stress, and adjustment to significant life changes. I have a special passion for supporting women, caregivers, helping professionals, and individuals who spend so much time caring for others that they often neglect their own emotional well-being. I also work with individuals seeking greater self-awareness, healthier relationships, improved coping skills, and personal growth. Clients often describe me as warm, compassionate, thoughtful, and easy to talk with. I believe every person has unique strengths, and together we will build upon those strengths while addressing the challenges that may be keeping you from living the life you desire. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, grieving a loss, managing stress, or simply looking for support during a period of transition, you do not have to face it alone. I am committed to helping you gain clarity, build resilience, and move forward with greater confidence and hope.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable therapeutic relationship. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, the concerns you would like to address, your personal history, current stressors, strengths, and the goals you hope to accomplish. My priority during the first session is to listen carefully, understand your unique experiences, and ensure that you feel heard without judgment. You do not have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. By the end of our first session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of how we will work together, an opportunity to ask questions, and a collaborative plan for moving forward. My hope is that you leave feeling encouraged, supported, and confident that positive change is possible.
What strengths do you bring to your sessions? Describe why your approach stands out. I bring more than 30 years of experience in behavioral health, human services, leadership, and counseling, along with a genuine passion for helping individuals navigate life's challenges with confidence and hope. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Grief Informed Professional, and doctoral scholar, I combine clinical expertise with practical, real world strategies that help clients create meaningful and lasting change. My approach stands out because I believe therapy is more than treating symptoms. It is about understanding the whole person. I take time to listen deeply, learn your unique story, and build a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, compassion, and respect. Every treatment plan is individualized because no two people experience life's challenges in the same way. I draw from evidence based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Strengths Based Therapy while tailoring each session to meet your specific needs and goals. Rather than focusing only on what is wrong, I help clients recognize their existing strengths, develop effective coping skills, and build resilience that extends beyond the therapy session. My background in counseling, leadership, and human resources also provides a unique perspective for individuals facing workplace stress, career transitions, caregiver responsibilities, relationship challenges, grief, anxiety, depression, and major life changes. I understand that many clients are balancing multiple responsibilities while trying to care for themselves, and I strive to provide practical tools they can immediately apply in their everyday lives. Clients often tell me they feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported in our sessions. My goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where you can safely explore your concerns, gain insight, strengthen your confidence, and move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and emotional well being.
My ideal client is an adult who is ready to invest in their emotional well-being and is seeking support during a challenging season of life. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, caregiver stress, relationship concerns, workplace stress, or significant life transitions that have left them feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or emotionally exhausted. I especially enjoy working with women, caregivers, helping professionals, and individuals who have spent so much time caring for others that they have unintentionally neglected themselves. Many of my clients are balancing multiple responsibilities while navigating career changes, family demands, loss, or major life adjustments. They are looking for a safe, supportive space where they can process their experiences, develop healthier coping strategies, and rediscover their own strengths. My clients do not need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. They simply need a willingness to explore, grow, and take meaningful steps toward positive change. Whether you are seeking relief from emotional distress, healing from a difficult experience, improving relationships, or developing greater resilience, I will meet you where you are and work collaboratively with you to help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and hope. I believe every individual has the capacity for growth and healing, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they create healthier, more balanced, and more fulfilling lives.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the evidence-based approaches I use to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Often, difficult experiences can lead to unhelpful thinking patterns that increase feelings of anxiety, depression, stress, or self-doubt. Together, we identify these patterns, challenge beliefs that may no longer serve you, and replace them with healthier, more balanced ways of thinking.
Grief Therapy
Grief is a deeply personal experience, and there is no single "right" way to grieve. As a Certified Grief Informed Professional, I provide a compassionate, supportive space where clients can process their loss at their own pace while honoring their unique journey. Whether you are grieving the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a major life transition, changes in health, or another significant loss, my goal is to help you navigate the emotions that accompany grief with understanding and hope. In our work together, I help clients explore the emotional, physical, and psychological impact of grief while developing healthy coping strategies to manage difficult emotions such as sadness, anger, guilt, anxiety, or uncertainty. I also help clients identify personal strengths, build resilience, and find meaningful ways to honor their experiences while gradually adapting to life's changes. My approach to grief therapy is individualized and integrates evidence based practices with compassion and practical support. I recognize that grief affects every aspect of a person's life, including relationships, work, identity, and emotional well being. Together, we work to reduce feelings of isolation, strengthen coping skills, and foster healing without placing expectations or timelines on the grieving process. My hope is to help clients move from simply surviving their loss to finding renewed purpose, hope, and the confidence to embrace the next chapter of their lives.
Narrative
Narrative Therapy is a collaborative approach that helps clients explore the stories they tell themselves about their lives, experiences, and identities. Sometimes difficult experiences such as grief, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, or major life transitions can shape the way we see ourselves, leaving us feeling stuck or defined by our struggles. Narrative Therapy helps clients recognize that they are not their problems and that they have the ability to reshape the meaning of their experiences. In my practice, I help clients identify the beliefs and narratives that may be limiting their growth while exploring the strengths, resilience, and values that have carried them through difficult times. Together, we examine how past experiences have influenced their current perspective and work to create a more balanced and empowering story that reflects their abilities, accomplishments, and hopes for the future. This approach is particularly helpful for individuals experiencing grief, caregiver stress, anxiety, depression, identity changes, and significant life transitions. As clients begin to view themselves through a lens of resilience rather than limitation, they often gain greater self awareness, increased confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose. I frequently integrate Narrative Therapy with other evidence based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Supportive Therapy, and grief informed care. By combining these approaches, I help clients process their experiences, recognize their strengths, and develop practical strategies for creating meaningful and lasting change. My goal is to help clients move beyond feeling defined by life's challenges and instead embrace a story that reflects healing, growth, resilience, and hope for the future.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a strengths based, goal oriented approach that helps clients focus on their abilities, resources, and desired future rather than remaining stuck in the problems that brought them to therapy. While it is important to acknowledge life's challenges, I believe clients also benefit from identifying what is already working and building upon those successes. In my practice, I use SFBT to help clients clarify their goals, recognize their strengths, and develop practical, achievable steps toward positive change. Rather than focusing exclusively on past difficulties, I encourage clients to explore their resilience, identify exceptions to their challenges, and envision what meaningful progress would look like in their daily lives. This approach is especially helpful for individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, life transitions, caregiver fatigue, workplace challenges, relationship concerns, and adjustment to change. Through thoughtful questioning and collaborative goal setting, clients often discover that they possess more strengths and resources than they initially realize.
Supportive
Supportive Therapy is a foundational part of my approach because I believe healing begins when clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted. I strive to create a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of criticism. In my practice, I use Supportive Therapy to help clients navigate life's challenges by providing encouragement, emotional validation, active listening, and practical guidance. Whether a client is experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, caregiver stress, relationship concerns, or a significant life transition, I meet them where they are and provide support that is tailored to their unique needs and circumstances. Supportive Therapy also focuses on helping clients recognize their strengths, build resilience, improve self confidence, and develop healthy coping skills. Together, we explore current stressors, identify effective ways to manage difficult emotions, and strengthen the resources that promote emotional well being and personal growth. While I provide empathy and encouragement, I also help clients gain insight, identify patterns, and develop practical strategies they can use in their everyday lives. I often integrate Supportive Therapy with other evidence based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and grief informed care, to create a treatment plan that is both personalized and effective. My goal is for clients to leave each session feeling heard, supported, empowered, and better equipped to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence, resilience, and hope. This collaborative approach helps foster lasting growth while reinforcing each client's ability to overcome obstacles and move forward in a healthy, meaningful way.
