New to Grow
Welcome! My name is Samantha, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LISW-CP). My passion for helping others began at the University of Georgia and continued through my Master of Social Work at Boise State University. I’ve had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and adults, which has shaped my compassionate, individualized approach. Sometimes the things we carry don’t look heavy from the outside. You may be managing work, relationships, family, and everyday responsibilities while feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or unsure of where to begin. I offer a warm, compassionate space where you can bring all of yourself to therapy and explore what’s beneath the surface at your own pace. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-informed, and solution-focused techniques, tailoring each session to you, your needs, and your goals. My hope is that our work together gives you greater clarity, self-understanding, and something meaningful to carry into your everyday life.
Our first session is a chance to pause and focus on you and what you’ve been carrying. We’ll talk about what feels most important right now and what you’d like support with. Whether you’re working through something difficult, navigating a new chapter, or looking for more peace and balance, you don’t have to come in with all the answers. We’ll take things at your pace and figure out where to begin together.
My own life experiences have taught me the importance of resilience, patience, and self-compassion. They have also given me a deeper appreciation for how much life can ask of us and how different each person’s journey can be. I bring that perspective into my sessions by listening with compassion, meeting you where you are, and giving you space to work through things at your own pace. I’ll offer support when you need a place to process, and I’m also comfortable gently challenging you when it can help you see things differently or move forward.
My ideal clients may be navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, or feeling overwhelmed by everything on their plate. They may be trying to understand themselves better, work through a difficult season, or find more balance and peace. They are open to having honest conversations, exploring new perspectives, and taking an active role in their growth, at a pace that feels right for them.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Negative or difficult thoughts are a normal part of being human—the goal isn’t to erase them, but to learn how to manage them so they feel more manageable and don’t interfere with your relationships, daily life, or overall well-being. Together, we’ll identify patterns, explore different ways of responding, and develop tools you can use in everyday life.
I take a trauma-informed approach that recognizes how past experiences can shape the way we think, feel, and respond to life today. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can feel safe, respected, and in control of your own process. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, with compassion for where you’ve been and where you are now.
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help you focus on where you want to go rather than feeling stuck in what isn’t working. We’ll identify your strengths, what is already working, and the small changes that can help you move toward your goals. This approach can be especially helpful when you want to focus on the present, find practical next steps, and build on the progress you’re already making.
