I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Florida. I'm experienced working with individuals, groups, couples and families. When working with an individual, couple or family I assess and addresses the entire family history, the sum of its parts, and not simply the individuals that comprise it. The distress or problem that originated may not solely be within an individual but a natural reaction to a family dynamic that creates the distress. By using Family Systems Theory I'm able to help the Client have a deeper awareness of their personal conflicts, how to resolve them, and live a more fulfilling life without addictions. I have a Bachelor’s from the University of Arizona and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California. Im experienced working with Adolescents, LGBTQ+ Community, HIV/AIDS, Domestic Violence, Sex and Love Addiction, and 12 Step Recovery.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

ARE YOU READY TO FIND SOLUTIONS? Let me help you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move forward to achieving those dreams and desires. You have accomplished this before; you just never had a word to define it. Let’s build upon those inner strengths and use that determination and drive to continue your journey. You can do it! Living in the past leads to despair and depression. Living in the future leaves us anxious and chaotic. Learning to live in today, in the moment is a challenge and skill which you can benefit from. The past is gone. You can’t change it. The future is out of reach and may not come. This is your moment. Live for today. Don’t waste any more time telling those old stories. Be you, now, living life to its fullest. Write a new story today! Don’t waste another second...let’s figure out what your next step will be! I’ll support your decisions and ideas and help you navigate your journey to the next level.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

It is all a journey and my role is to assist those who are having trouble with the navigation. I am at my best when I am helping people with overcoming obstacles, identifying their strengths and recommending how to strategically and passionately utilize them to their greatest potential.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Are you unhappy in your relationship and you would like to feel connected again? Have you struggled finding purpose and meaning? Does it seem that people, places and things are dictating and controlling your life? And yet you are surviving. It may not always be pretty, but something keeps you putting one foot in front of the other getting you from day to day, moment to moment on this journey of life. This is resiliency. Resilience is the process and outcome of successfully adapting to difficult or challenging life experiences. Adjusting our thoughts, feelings and behaviors requires flexibility to both the external and internal demands.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use this method type of non-directive therapy to empathetically drive toward providing a person with a safe space to talk and self-actualize positive changes in their life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Here we focus on learning to modify unhelpful thought patterns to improve the relationship between thoughts and feelings.

Gottman method

With Couples I focus on disarming conflicting verbal communication; increasing intimacy, respect, and affection; removing barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and creating a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.

Motivational Interviewing

Here I focus on the importance of a person's motivation for change through a person-centered counseling style that draws out a person's intrinsic motivation for change. It emphasizes autonomy, strengths, and a person's ideas about making positive change, while acknowledging conflicting feelings and challenges that come with change.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

With this method we focus on assessing strengths and resources to find solutions to a problem.
