I am a dedicated behavioral health professional with 19 years of experience working in the mental health and addiction field. Working to help guide others with their battles with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and addiction. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to support individuals from diverse backgrounds who are navigating challenges related to mental health, substance use, trauma, life transitions, relationships, and other difficult life experiences, but then working through those walls that often keep us from thriving and living our best life. My approach is compassionate, supportive, and person-centered. I believe therapy should provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable being yourself, talking openly about what you are experiencing, and working toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you. I draw from my extensive clinical experience to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and patterns while developing practical coping skills and healthier ways of managing life's challenges. I understand that reaching out for support can sometimes feel overwhelming, and my goal is to meet you where you are while helping you identify your strengths and move toward where you want to be. Whether you are struggling with mental health concerns, substance use, trauma, stress, or simply feeling stuck, I strive to provide genuine, individualized support that helps you create a renewed sense of direction in your life.

I’m not the kind of therapist who just nods and asks how that makes you feel. That’s not what most men need, especially when it feels like it’s falling apart. I work with men who are overwhelmed, burned out, or angry and don’t know why. Men who feel stuck in their heads, disconnected from the people they love, or like they’re always one step away from snapping. Some are facing divorce. Others are trying to be better dads, partners, or sons, but they often feel like they’re failing. Many were pushed into therapy by someone who cares about them. Almost all of them stay once they realize it helps. My approach is practical, honest, and built for the real world. I use tools from CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy, plus a good dose of common sense to help you understand what’s going on and actually do something about it. No psychobabble. No lectures. Just straight talk and strategies that work. If you're tired of feeling angry, lost, or numb, it's going to be okay. You're not broken, and you're not alone. This isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about finding your footing and getting back to who you were before life got so heavy.

For more than a decade I have been counseling clients with a variety of mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual health struggles from a wide spectrum of personalities and life experiences. Each counseling experience brings challenges and victories. I consider it an honor and privilege to come alongside individuals or couples in need- to help in the healing process through processing trauma, identifying and replacing harmful and self-sabotaging patterns of behavior with restorative ones, providing mediation and advocacy, and offering compassion and accountability. I grew up in Ohio, but now live on a 17 acre homestead in the Ozarks with my wife of 17 years and our 6 children. My personal interests range from video games to lumberjacking. I have enjoyed the time and opportunity to work remotely and start a new chapter in my life with my family figuring out the homesteading chaos.

As a social worker therapist grounded in mindfulness theory, my dream client embodies a spirit of openness and motivation for change. This individual recognizes the challenges that come with personal growth but approaches therapy with a willingness to explore and confront these difficulties. They appreciate the journey of self-discovery and are eager to gain insights that can lead to meaningful transformation in their life. In our sessions, I envision a collaborative environment where they feel safe to express their thoughts and emotions. They understand that progress may not always be linear, yet they remain committed to the process. This client values the therapeutic relationship and seeks guidance to cultivate greater self-awareness, resilience, and mindfulness in their daily life. What I cherish most about this ideal client is their ability to reflect on their experiences and actively engage in their healing journey. They inspire me with their courage to face discomfort and their desire to learn and grow. Together, we would explore various mindfulness practices and therapeutic techniques, fostering a deep connection that empowers them to embrace change with compassion and patience. Ultimately, my dream client is someone who is not only motivated to seek help but also appreciates the support and insight I can offer. In this partnership, we would work hand in hand to navigate the complexities of their experiences, celebrating each step toward a more fulfilled and mindful existence. This collaborative spirit of growth and understanding is what makes the therapeutic journey profoundly rewarding for both of us.

If I could write a letter to my younger self, I would tell her this: You are not broken. You are responding to what you’ve been through. And one day, your healing will become someone else’s hope. Hi, I’m Cherita Griffin, MS, LPCC-S, NCC, CYT, SEL-F, C-DBT, CMIP—a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory Endorsement who has spent over 20 years supporting people through mental health challenges. I’m a trauma-informed therapist who deeply understands that healing is not just clinical… it’s personal. I’m also a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT), Social Emotional Learning Facilitator (SEL-F), Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist (C-DBT), and Certified Mindfulness Informed Professional (CMIP), allowing me to integrate both evidence-based practices and holistic approaches into the work we do together. I specialize in helping individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from themselves find their way back to clarity, confidence, and peace. In our work together, we don’t just talk, we gently uncover, process, and rebuild. I combine evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, mindfulness, and Social Emotional Learning with a compassionate, real, and non-judgmental space. This is a place where: • You don’t have to have it all together • You don’t have to carry everything alone • You can finally exhale Healing is not about becoming someone new, it’s about returning to who you were before life taught you to shrink, question yourself, or survive in silence. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker based in Ohio and have been in the field since 2013. I graduated from Miami University in 2013 with my bachelor's degree in psychology and worked as a case manager for a year, assisting adults with managing mental health symptoms. I also helped with medication management, and assisted with supporting them in daily living skills, before getting my master's degree in social work in 2016. Once I graduated with my Master's, I then worked at a community based correctional facility for 3 years as a mental health and addiction specialist. I completed diagnostic assessments and facilitated individual and group therapy sessions for mental health and addiction. From there, I began working at an inpatient behavioral health hospital and assisted patients there with acute mental health needs and helped to provide referrals for outpatient treatment. Since 2020, I have been working with clients doing individual therapy and have been growing my private practice. I find it rewarding to be able to work with clients long-term and get to know them as a person while meeting each individual where they are; what their struggles are, what their successes are, see progress they make in different areas of their lives, and develop a rapport that is respectful and supportive. I have been able to gain a great deal of experience over my 13 years with a very diverse background through promotion and advancement, in the mental health field, and those experiences help me to navigate my therapeutic approach to assist with being able to better serve clients while we are working together.

Hi, I'm Kim! First, I know how hard it can be to search for a therapist, so I want to acknowledge that if you are here, you are making a big step. Whether you choose to work with me or another therapist, I wish you the best as you begin or continue your therapy journey. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision Designation in Ohio, and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Alabama. I have experience as an individual therapist, family therapist, parent coach, and group facilitator. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Practice, and Strengths-based approach, however, I bring in many elements of evidence-based practice to meet clients needs. I work with clients around anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, life transitions, relationships, and overall skill building. I believe that change can happen quickly and I often work with clients on targeted goals with a solutions-focused approach. I truly believe that therapy is collaborative. I feel deeply honored to work with my clients and to witness their progress. I work to create a safe, calm, and positive therapy space for clients to explore their challenges and practice new ways of relating to those challenges. ***I am currently accepting clients interested in short-term therapy. Short-term therapy averages between 12-20 sessions and utilizes evidenced-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solutions Focused Brief Therapy to support a client's therapeutic goals in a focused, targeted manner.

Hi, I’m Jacalyn Yurick, LISW-S. I’m a licensed therapist with over 10 years of experience helping adolescents and adults navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship stress, grief, substance use, and major life transitions. I specialize in working with individuals who feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in survival mode, or exhausted from carrying the weight of everything on their own. Many of the clients I work with are high-functioning on the outside while silently struggling internally with anxiety, unresolved trauma, burnout, people-pleasing, self-doubt, or emotional exhaustion. Others come to therapy after years of feeling misunderstood, emotionally disconnected, or unable to fully move forward despite trying everything they can to “just cope.” My goal is to help clients move beyond simply surviving and begin feeling more grounded, confident, connected, and emotionally at peace. I am EMDR-trained and have extensive experience treating complex trauma and PTSD. In addition to trauma work, I frequently help clients struggling with panic attacks, chronic stress, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, emotional regulation, grief and loss, and substance use concerns. I utilize evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based interventions, Solution-Focused Therapy, and strengths-based treatment tailored to each client’s individual needs. My background includes work in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential substance use treatment, outpatient mental health, school-based therapy, couples counseling, and telehealth. Working across these settings has given me experience supporting clients through both crisis situations and long-term personal growth. Clients often describe me as down-to-earth, supportive, direct, and easy to talk to. Therapy does not require you to have everything figured out before you begin. You only need a starting point, and together we can work toward meaningful and lasting change.

I have been a licensed social worker for the past 30 years. I have worked in child welfare and at the Veteran's Health Administration, and all of the work I have done has been working with people with anxiety, depression and or trauma. I think I lean as much from the people I work with as much as they learn from me. I believe people can change, people can grow and people are capable of making possible what seems impossible. I am eclectic in my practice, but I lean heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma informed, Reality based and Solution Focused treatment.

I work with adults age 20 and over, and people often describe me as accepting, empathetic, and real — with a sense of humor that helps therapy feel approachable and genuine. My goal is to create a space where you feel both supported and challenged as you work toward your goals. My approach blends humor, honesty, and evidence-based strategies to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns (like cognitive distortions) and promote self-acceptance. Whether you’re hoping to manage stress, improve relationships, or reconnect with your sense of worth, I offer a safe, affirming space to do meaningful work — and maybe even share a laugh along the way. You don’t have to have it all figured out to start therapy. If something here resonates with you, send me a message — I’d be happy to talk about how we can work together.

I’m a mental health therapist with more than thirteen years of experience, and my practice is grounded in honoring each client as a whole person. From the moment you enter session, you are respected, appreciated, and offered a space where you can speak freely and disclose only what feels right for you. Safety, dignity, and autonomy guide every part of our work together. Clinically, I draw from evidenced based approaches such as ERP, CBT, TRAP/TRAC, mindful‑living practices, and intentional space for processing — blending structure with openness so clients can explore both the practical and the deeply personal. My greatest strengths as a therapist are working with individuals struggling with OCD (you don't have to be afraid to speak your intrusive thoughts in my sessions. I am trained to understand the difference of ego dystonic intrusive thoughts that don't align with your true values and beliefs), Panic Attacks, Generalized Anxiety, Depression., aging and life transitions. Individuals struggling with eating disorders will be given referrals for treatment of this disorder. If chosen by the client, I can also help integrate Christian beliefs into treatment in a way that supports their healing, values, and sense of meaning. My role is to walk alongside you, offering evidence‑based care that aligns with who you are and how you want to grow.

We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Ohio from Cincinnati to Cleveland! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Ohio.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
