I am kind yet straightforward with a little humor thrown in as well. Life can get overwhelming, and it can help to laugh at ourselves sometimes to lighten the burden. I offer trauma-informed therapy that is supportive, honest, and down to earth. I use proven approaches to help you process painful experiences, manage emotions, and build healthier patterns. Starting therapy can be intimidating, but you do not have to figure it out alone. If you’re ready for a space where you can feel seen and heard, supported, and gently challenged, I’d love to connect. Taking that first step can lead to healing, clarity, and real change. I offer a space where you can feel safe being vulnerable at your own pace.

First session

The first session is typically a 'get to know you' session. We will talk about the parts of you that you feel like sharing, and only those. I will neither push nor pry for more information than you are ready to give (that generally applies to all sessions.) The goal for the first session is for you to walk away feeling seen and heard, while allowing me to walk alongside you in parts of your life you feel comfortable sharing.

Strengths

I will always be kind, and at the same time, I am also honest. I will help you uncover the healthiest paths forward while being your biggest cheerleader. I use evidence-based practices and am also quite laid-back in the therapy room. Nothing is 'off-limits;' if you need to discuss it - I am there for it.

Ideal clients

My "ideal" client is anybody who is engaged in treatment and desires improvement of 'self.' A person willing to show up with a eagerness to change. Someone who understands that this type of improvement takes a lifetime of effort, long after therapy ends - that we should never stop learning and bettering ourselves. Someone who can learn to realize that our imperfections can also be part of our beauty.

Treatment methods

Attachment-based

This may help us learn why you communicate with others the way you currently do, which can enhance relationships and communication styles.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This is a way to teach emotional regulation, and also reframe negative thought patterns.

Faith based therapy

This is utilized in alignment with the client's faith, if any, and only how their faith pertains to their therapeutic needs.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Therapist will work with some clients on grounding techniques. Therapist will also work with some clients on how to regulate an activated central nervous system.

Motivational Interviewing

This modality assists the therapist, as well as the client, in learning where the client is in regard to readiness for change.
