About me

I offer a warm, compassionate, and grounded space where you can feel understood and supported as you work through anxiety, overwhelm, relationship stress, and long‑standing patterns that no longer serve you. My approach is flexible and collaborative—I tailor each session to your needs by blending CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, acceptance‑based work, and mindfulness strategies. Together, we’ll identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, build present‑moment awareness, and uncover old behaviors that may be interfering in your current life. Clients describe my style as calming, validating, and practical—I offer both insight and actionable tools to help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control of your path forward.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session, clients can expect a calm, supportive space to share what’s bringing them in and what they hope to change. You’ll explore their history, current challenges, and goals while helping them feel grounded and understood. Clients leave with a clearer sense of direction, a better understanding of how therapy will work, and the reassurance that they have a steady partner who will hold space, offer thoughtful challenge, and guide them toward meaningful growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a balance of calm presence and thoughtful challenge to my work. Clients often tell me they feel grounded by the quiet, steady space I hold—one where they can slow down, reflect, and feel genuinely understood. At the same time, I’m not afraid to gently challenge patterns that keep people stuck, and I use humor when it helps clients see things from a new angle or feel more at ease. This blend of warmth, insight, and authenticity helps clients feel both supported and encouraged to grow in meaningful ways.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Adults who are ready to understand themselves more deeply and make meaningful changes in their life. They may be navigating a wide range of mental health or substance‑use challenges, but they come in with a willingness to reflect, be honest with themselves, and try new strategies. They’re seeking clarity, stability, and healthier patterns—wanting to break cycles that keep them stuck and build a life that feels more grounded, balanced, and aligned with their values. They appreciate a therapist who offers steady support, thoughtful challenge, and authentic connection as they work toward lasting growth.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients notice their thoughts and emotions without getting pulled into old patterns or self‑criticism. In sessions, we slow things down so you can observe what’s happening internally with more clarity and less judgment. I guide you in identifying the values that matter most to you, and we use those values to shape practical, meaningful actions. When unhelpful thoughts or avoidance show up, I offer gentle challenge—and sometimes humor—to help you step back, see the pattern, and choose a response that aligns with who you want to be. ACT becomes a steady framework for building psychological flexibility, grounding yourself in the present, and moving toward a life that feels more intentional and authentic.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In sessions, we slow down and look closely at the patterns that show up—especially the automatic thoughts or beliefs that fuel anxiety, self‑criticism, or stuckness. I offer gentle challenge to these patterns, helping clients examine them with curiosity rather than judgment, and we work together to develop more balanced, realistic ways of thinking. From there, we identify small, practical behavioral changes that support their goals. CBT becomes a structured, supportive framework that helps clients build insight, practice new skills, and create meaningful shifts in how they respond to daily stressors.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore their ambivalence and strengthen their own motivation for change. Instead of pushing a specific direction, I create a calm, supportive space where clients can talk openly about what they want, what’s getting in the way, and what feels hard to shift. I ask thoughtful, reflective questions that help them hear themselves more clearly, and I offer gentle challenge when their goals and behaviors don’t quite line up. Humor sometimes helps lighten the process and make difficult insights feel more approachable. MI allows clients to tap into their own values, confidence, and readiness—so the changes they make feel authentic, intentional, and sustainable.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use mindfulness‑based therapy to help clients slow down, notice what’s happening inside them, and respond with intention rather than habit. In sessions, I guide clients to pay attention to their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations with curiosity instead of judgment. This creates space to understand patterns more clearly and to choose healthier ways of coping. I hold a quiet, steady environment that makes it easier to stay present, and I offer gentle challenge—and sometimes humor—when avoidance or old behaviors show up. Mindfulness becomes a practical tool clients can use both in and out of session to feel more grounded, regulated, and connected to themselves.
