New to Grow
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel scary or overwhelming, and my goal is to make that process feel as comfortable, supportive, and safe as possible. I believe that while life can be challenging, everyone deserves the opportunity to feel happy, balanced, and thriving. I am here to support you through life’s ups and downs and help you work toward becoming the healthiest and most authentic version of yourself. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with over 14 years of experience working in a variety of settings and with individuals across the lifespan, from birth through older adulthood. While I have a special connection with adolescents and members of the LGBTQ community, I truly enjoy working with clients of all backgrounds. I approach therapy with compassion, curiosity, and respect for each person’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. I have experience supporting individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and LGBTQIA+ related concerns. My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. I tailor treatment to meet each client’s individual needs, recognizing that therapy is not one-size-fits-all and that meaningful change happens through collaboration, trust, and a strong therapeutic relationship. I look forward to the opportunity to walk alongside you as you begin or continue your healing journey.
Your first session with me is a chance for us to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable, trusting therapeutic relationship. We will talk about what brings you to therapy, the concerns or challenges you are experiencing, and what you hope to gain from the process. I will also ask questions about your background, relationships, and history so I can better understand your experiences and needs. My goal is to create a supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered as we begin working together.
My greatest strengths as a therapist are creating a warm, supportive environment where clients feel safe, heard, and genuinely understood. I build strong therapeutic relationships rooted in trust, compassion, and authenticity, while also providing practical tools clients can use to create meaningful change in their daily lives. I am able to balance empathy with directness, helping clients feel validated while also gently challenging patterns that may be keeping them stuck. I tailor treatment to each individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. I integrate evidence-based methods such as CBT, mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy, and other approaches based on each client’s unique needs and goals. Clients often appreciate my ability to help them gain insight, build confidence, improve coping skills, and make lasting progress in a way that feels collaborative and empowering.
My ideal clients include individuals seeking a supportive, affirming space to heal, grow, and create meaningful change. I enjoy working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, individuals experiencing anxiety-related concerns, and those navigating major life transitions such as career changes, relationship shifts, or identity exploration. I also have a passion for supporting adolescents through the unique challenges of growing up, as well as helping women address issues related to self-worth, relationships, stress, and personal empowerment.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my practice by helping clients identify the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we work to recognize unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge negative beliefs, and develop healthier coping strategies. CBT is a practical, goal-oriented approach that empowers clients with tools they can use in everyday life to create lasting change.
Compassion Focused
I incorporate Compassion Focused Therapy into my practice by helping clients develop a kinder, more supportive relationship with themselves. Together, we explore patterns of self-criticism, shame, and emotional distress while building skills in self-compassion, emotional regulation, and inner safety. This approach supports clients in healing, increasing resilience, and responding to life’s challenges with greater understanding and care.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
I incorporate Emotionally Focused Therapy into my practice by helping clients better understand, express, and respond to their emotions in healthy ways. Together, we explore underlying emotional patterns, attachment needs, and relationship dynamics that may be contributing to distress. This approach helps clients strengthen emotional connection, improve communication, and create more secure, fulfilling relationships.
Gender-affirming therapy
I provide gender affirming therapy by creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their identity and lived experiences openly. I work collaboratively with clients to navigate challenges related to gender identity, self-acceptance, relationships, and social stressors while honoring each person’s unique journey. My approach emphasizes empowerment, authenticity, and helping clients build confidence and well-being in a way that feels true to them.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I incorporate mindfulness-based therapy into my practice by helping clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without judgment. Together, we use grounding techniques, breathing exercises, and present-moment awareness to reduce stress and improve emotional regulation. This approach helps clients feel more centered, build resilience, and respond to challenges with greater clarity and calm.
