I’m a licensed psychotherapist who blends practical tools with a calm, trauma-informed approach. I help adults and couples reduce anxiety, improve communication, and feel steadier in their bodies and relationships. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. You’ll get clear goals, gentle structure, and skills you can use between sessions. My work draws from attachment theory, CBT/ACT, IFS-informed parts work, and somatic regulation so change is felt, not just understood. Clients describe me as grounding and thoughtful; they leave sessions with language for what they’re feeling and simple steps to move forward. I’m culturally responsive and sensitive to faith, family roles, and identity. You don’t have to explain your background to be understood here. Together, we’ll slow things down, make sense of patterns, and build flexible habits that support the life you want.

My path to becoming a therapist began with a deep curiosity about how our past experiences and family dynamics shape us. After gaining experience in a variety of settings—from in-home therapy and outpatient facilities to addiction treatment centers—I consistently observed a core theme: many of the challenges people face, whether it's anxiety, PTSD, panic attacks or relational issues, are rooted in our past experiences. These observations have shaped my practice, leading me to create a collaborative and gentle space where clients can explore these foundational issues. My goal is to help people build a strong sense of self-trust, leading to greater inner calm and more meaningful connections.

I’m a bilingual Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to helping individuals heal and grow through an integrative mind-body-soul approach. My work combines evidence-based modalities—such as CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy—with holistic practices like energy healing and guided meditation. I specialize in helping clients overcome trauma, anxiety, and depression while reconnecting with their inner strength and sense of purpose. My goal is to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where healing becomes a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and transformation.

I am an LCSW, Columbia university graduate. I discovered the field of social through my sister's chronic illness as a child. The hospital social worker who worked with my sister and family opened my eyes to the compassion that is needed in caring for and connecting to families undergoing unanticipated difficulties. From a young age, I knew I wanted to help others with processing difficult life experiences.

Providing therapy, being a listener and helping others in essence found me. I did not initially plan to become a therapist but I am so happy and proud I did. I receive joy from being able to find the right words and work through the issue with my client. Therapy is a very important tool, whether it is intensive treatment or being a supportive ear. I have worked in the helping field for over 20 years. Beginning my career with developmentally delayed, then preventive services, foster care, Autism spectrum and currently providing child and adult psychiatric services. I enjoy the reward of helping! I am licensed to provide treat in New York and Georgia.

Congratulations on taking the first step toward making change in your life! My name is Carly. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 10 years of experience in behavioral health, and have worked with adolescents and adults experiencing both mental health and substance abuse disorders. I graduated from Binghamton University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and completed an M.S.Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at St. John's University. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral therapy, which will help you learn the tools to challenge patterns of thinking that leave you feeling stuck. By learning these skills, you will be more equipped to manage difficult relationships and tackle stressful life events. By shifting to an internal locus of control, you will finally begin to feel a sense of autonomy over your life. My style is to be more active during sessions, while being careful not to "advice give". You will always be in the driver's seat as we work together to better navigate problems.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by New York rather than a city like New York City?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across New York from Buffalo to Rochester! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in New York.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Family Conflict?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Family Conflict, is filtering therapists in New York that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
