Hello I'm Madelynne, My training and experience has instilled in me a strong belief in my clients' ability to change their lives with support, understanding and compassion. My journey in this field is driven by my passion for facilitating safe experiences for clients' growth, and I feel fortunate to be able to continue to work with clients to gain valuable insights and to assist them on their own life's journey. I believe it is critically important to establish and build mutual trust in the therapeutic relationship and I prioritize this in sessions.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My approach is to begin by building mutual trust and comfort from the very start of our therapeutic relationship. This entails gathering background information and learning more about the client and their reason(s) for seeking therapy. The goal of the first session is to make the client feel safe and comfortable to ensure that the therapy will provide a good fit to move forward. Subsequent sessions explore and address the deeper needs of each client to develop and implement meaningful strategies and solutions to achieve their goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are in making my clients feel comfortable, safe and valued so that from the start we build mutual trust. This allows for honest discussions and feedback for both the client and myself on how the therapy process is working so that I can focus our time together to best support the client. I bring warmth, empathy and acceptance to my sessions and strongly believe in my ability to assist my clients.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have worked with many clients through many different areas of anxiety, examining the route of the anxiety and exploring history and trauma that may add to anxious feelings. Helping clients identify their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, looking at dysfunctional thinking, and reframing to make the dysfunctional thinking more accurate leaving the client with coping skills to deal with anxiety when it arises.

Attachment-based

Exploring clients' childhood and current relationship attachments can be incredibly powerful in understanding ourselves and how those attachments affect our current selves and relationship.

Gender-affirming therapy

Accepting all clients where they are and who they are and how they identify and using affirming language in sessions. Open to all client's gender, sexual orientation, religion and life experiences.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindful practices, breathing techniques, mindfulness in behavior and our outlook on everyday experiences is all encouraged in and out of session with clients.
