Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your first session, you can look forward to a warm, supportive, judgment-free atmosphere where you can begin to share what brought you to therapy and what you would like to receive assistance with. We will get to know each other, explore your current concerns, strengths, and needs, and been identifying areas that you would like to adjust or work on. You will leave, hopefully, with a better understanding of how therapy can support you and a sense that you do not have to navigate your challenges alone. My goal is for you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable enough to take the next step in your life's path.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach stands out because I bring both professional expertise and a deep understanding of the importance of human connection during difficult times. My background in Forensic Science and my experience working with families following the TWA Flight 800 tragedy taught me the importance of listening, compassion, and meeting people where they are. In therapy, I take a personalized and collaborative approach, drawing from evidence-based methods while recognizing each person's unique story, strengths, values, and goals. I strive to create a safe space where people feel heard, respected, and empowered to create meaningful shifts.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal person is someone who is ready to better understand themselves, work through challenges, and create meaningful changes in their lives. I enjoy working with individuals who may be experiencing life transitions, relationship or family difficulties, grief and loss, stress, or struggles with self-esteem and emotional well-being. I especially value working with people who want a compassionate, nonjudgemental space where they feel heard, explore their transitions, build on their strengths, and develop practical tools for moving forward. I meet each person where they are and provide therapy to their individual needs, values, and desired outcomes.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

This treatment allows a personal dynamic for understanding relationships, emotional needs, trust, communication, family patterns, and how early experiences impact current relationships. I use an attachment-based approach to assist people with understanding how their relationships and life experiences can influence the way they connect with others, communicate, manage emotions, and respond to conflict. I create a safe and supportive environment where people can explore whatever is going on in their lives without judgment. I assist individuals, couples, family members strengthen communication, build trust, increase emotional awareness, and create more secure and healthy connections. Treatment is tailored to each person's individual needs and may incorporate other evidence-based approaches when appropriate.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to assist people with understanding the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors! Together, we identify patterns of thinking that may be contributing to emotional distress, relationship difficulties, or challenges in their everyday lives. I assist people with developing healthier perspectives, practical coping strategies, and more effective ways of responding to difficult situations. My approach is collaborative and individualized. I work with people to increase self-awareness, strengthen issue-solving skills, manage emotions, and create tools they can use both in and outside of therapy. I focus on assisting people with recognizing their strengths and making meaningful, lasting shifts in their lives.

Faith based therapy

I only integrate faith and spirituality into the therapeutic process if the person choses this. This can be meaningful and appropriate for certain people. I provide a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental environment where people can explore their faith, values, beliefs, and spiritual resources while addressing emotional, relational, and life challenges. Through faith-based approach, I assist people to draw upon their spiritual beliefs and personal strengths as sources of hope, understanding, resilience, healing, and guidance. I respect each person's individual beliefs and allow their needs and preferences to guide how faith is incorporated into treatment.

Narrative

I use Narrative Therapy to assist people with exploring their life stories. The stories that have assisted with their development, their relationships, and their life experiences. Together, we identify patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may be influencing how they see themselves and their possibilities for the future. I assist people with separating themselves from their issues, recognizing their strengths and resilience, and develop a more empowering perspective regarding their experiences. Through a collaborative and compassionate approach, people can begin to identify new possibilities, rewrite their narratives, and move forward toward the life and relationships they have a desire to create.
