Hi, I’m Josh Burke, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing therapy across, Colorado, New York and Vermont. I’ve spent over 12 years working with individuals navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, and major life transitions. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable. Because of that, I place a strong emphasis on building a genuine, trusting relationship from the start—one where you feel supported, understood, and able to be honest about what you’re going through. My approach is both relational and goal-oriented. I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), which means we won’t just talk about what’s wrong—we’ll also focus on what matters to you and how to move toward it in practical, meaningful ways. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or navigating a significant transition, our work will center on helping you better understand your experience, develop new ways of responding to stress, and take steps toward the life you want to live. I tailor therapy to each person, recognizing that no two paths forward look the same. I believe change is possible—even when things feel difficult—and I aim to walk alongside you in a way that feels collaborative, grounded, and forward-moving.

I approach psychotherapy as a process of developing a deeper, more honest understanding of oneself. Many people are not only seeking relief from symptoms; they are trying to understand why they repeatedly find themselves in certain relationships, emotional states, conflicts, or patterns of behavior. My clinical interests reflect a broad curiosity about human behavior, including identity, personality, attachment, anger, shame, desire, self-control, meaning, spirituality, interpersonal conflict, and the ways our histories continue to shape our present lives. I enjoy working with people who are already introspective, as well as those who are just beginning to put their inner experience into words. My approach is informed by psychodynamic and psychoanalytic thinking, while also drawing from DBT, ACT, cognitive-behavioral approaches, motivational interviewing, and other evidence-informed methods when useful. I am interested not only in what someone thinks or feels, but in the deeper patterns beneath those experiences: what they fear, long for, avoid, protect, and struggle to reconcile within themselves. I also believe therapy can involve questions larger than diagnosis: Who are you becoming? What kind of relationships do you want? What gives your life meaning? What does discipline, responsibility, or freedom look like for you? Outside of psychotherapy, my interests include martial arts, physical training, philosophy, religion and spirituality, neuroscience, writing, and human motivation. Years of martial arts training have shaped how I think about change: insight matters, but growth also requires patience, repetition, humility, restraint, and practice. My style is engaged, thoughtful, direct, and curious. I aim to create a space where we can think carefully about experiences that may be painful, contradictory, uncomfortable, or difficult to admit. Ultimately, I see therapy as a way to increase psychological freedom so that old patterns do not automatically determine what happens next.

Please note I specialize in working with individuals and their caregivers on issues surrounding serious illness, fertility/infertility, onco-survivorship, and postpartum support and am accepting new clients with these concerns. We all have fundamental needs: To belong, to feel understood, to give and receive love, to feel financially secure, to be free from pain. My approach to therapy begins with addressing the impetus that led to scheduling that first appointment, to then addressing core basic needs like sleep, nutrition and social connections. We will work to develop an awareness into emotional states and behaviors that arise out of them. Sometimes, it is the actions of others that are the primary source of our own distress. Even then, we can focus on what is in our control to improve our coping and circumstances.

Hi, I’m Shay Mitchell, LCSW. As your therapist, my goal is to offer a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported. Beginning therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you’ve been carrying a lot on your own. My role is to walk alongside you as we make sense of your experiences, uncover the patterns that are holding you back, and build the emotional tools you need to move forward with clarity and confidence. In our work together, I combine evidence-based approaches—such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and person-centered techniques with a warm, collaborative style. I believe that healing grows from a strong therapeutic relationship, where you feel safe enough to explore difficult emotions and empowered enough to imagine something different for your future. You are the expert in your own life; my job is to guide, support, and help you develop new ways of understanding yourself and the world around you. Clients often come to me during seasons of transition, emotional overwhelm, self-doubt, relationship stress, or when old wounds begin to resurface. Together, we’ll identify what’s no longer serving you and create a plan that feels manageable and aligned with your values. Whether we’re working to reduce anxiety, strengthen boundaries, improve emotional regulation, or heal from past experiences, I approach your growth with compassion, curiosity, and respect. Therapy with me is both reflective and practical. You’ll gain insight into your patterns, but you’ll also learn real skills—tools you can use in your everyday life to feel more grounded, more in control, and more connected to yourself. My hope is that through our work, you discover your own resilience, rebuild trust in yourself, and feel empowered to create the life you truly want. You don’t have to do this alone. I’m here to help you every step of the way.

Hello! I'll get right to the point - these are the main issues I work with: 1. OCD, Anxiety, and PTSD/C-PTSD. i.e. rumination, overthinking, repetitive, unwanted, or intrusive thoughts, compulsions (both mental and behavioral), fantasy/maladaptive daydreaming, asking questions like "What if?" and hyperfocusing on the stuff that keeps you up at night. 2. CODEPENDENCY. i.e. inability to say no/lack of assertiveness, fear of upsetting others, taking on too much responsibility, chronic feelings of obligation, poor boundaries, toxic relationships. I often work with people who would describe themselves as disciplined, hard working, and responsible. These noble personality traits can have two pitfalls: 1) Being taken advantage of by others who constantly expect you to solve their problems; and 2) Being overly rigid, controlling, perfectionistic, and emotionally repressed to a point where it is hurting you more than anyone else. 3. PERSONALITY CONCERNS. i.e. lack of purpose/identity, failing coping skills, thinking, "No one understands me," wondering, "Is there something wrong with me?" or asking yourself, "Why is it okay when everyone else acts like this, but when I do it, it's wrong?" Do any of these describe you or your situation? If so, I'd love to meet you and talk about how we can work together to overcome your struggles. Feel free to browse through my profile and if you feel so inclined, make an appointment so we can work toward restoring balance to your world again.

Through my practice, I work with individuals, couples, and families who may be struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, communication, relationship challenges, emotional regulation, or simply trying to figure out their next chapter. I meet each client where they are and recognize that no two people have the same story or path to healing. My goal is not to tell you who you should be, but to help you better understand who you are, what you need, and who you want to become. Therapy is a place for growth not just when life feels difficult, but also when you’re ready to build on the progress you’ve already made.

I am an LCSW with over 20 years experience as a front line clinician, supervisor and manager in the fields of substance use and addiction. I have learned over the years to take a flexible approach to patients, to "meet you where you're at." Every patient is unique, and my way of working with you is to collaborate on a treatment plan that addresses the issues that are of primary importance to you. Although I have learned a number of different approaches over the years, the therapy I provide has as its basis respect and a valuing of your unique strengths and gifts.
