Hello. I am a licensed Mental health counselor based in New York State. I specialize in ADHD and helping people of all ages adapt to authority and set healthy boundaries in the home, work and academic environment. Navigating often invalidating systems can be complicated, so I make my therapeutic approach as straightforward and understandable as possible by focusing on specific skills to help you thrive. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? I focus the first few sessions on past experiences leading up to therapy, including any prior experiences with therapy. This allows me to establish shared goals and expectations for working together.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first sessions I would like to go over what experiences have led you to therapy as well as your past experiences in therapy. I would like to learn how you view therapy and why it is important to start now. I would also like to know about your goals and expectations for therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I’ve been working successfully with children and adults who otherwise struggle to develop healthy working relationships with mental health professionals for the last 5 years. This also applies to those struggling to develop healthy and trusting relationships more broadly. If you find yourself avoiding relationships you’d otherwise enjoy for fear of losing your autonomy, I believe my approach would be a good fit.

My treatment methods

Supportive

I approach therapy in a straightforward and understandable manner. In addition to being supportive and affirming, my therapy is skill-based and will teach you how to handle difficult situations, transform your emotions through action, increase your awareness without judgment, and thrive in relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I work with individuals to help identify patterns of thinking and feeling that result in a cycle of distress. I believe people are capable of managing intense emotions through both coping skills and by reflecting on beliefs. My practice also includes the practice of mindfulness, where observing emotions nonjudgmental.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I am trained in evidenced-based therapies for working with trauma such as post-traumatic stress disorder. Trauma therapies are not a one size fits all approach, though this therapies works well for people who believe last recovery from symptoms is important. Typically, this therapy takes 12-15 sessions, with practice in between sessions.
