New to Grow
Welcome! I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York, and I believe that therapy should feel like a safe, supportive space where you can be heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. My approach balances active listening, empathy, and genuine support with practical, evidence-based strategies to help you navigate challenges and create meaningful change. I have extensive experience supporting individuals through a range of concerns, including maternal mental health, depression, anxiety, parenting challenges, relationship concerns, experiences of domestic abuse, and stress management. I believe that reaching out for support is an important step, and you don’t have to navigate difficult seasons of life alone. Together, we can work toward greater understanding, emotional well-being, and a stronger sense of balance and connection. My goal is to meet you where you are and create a therapeutic relationship where you feel comfortable being yourself and supported in moving forward.
Hi! The first session is really about getting to know each other and making sure you feel comfortable with the process. We’ll talk about what brought you in, what you’d like support with, and some background about what you’ve been experiencing. I’ll also explain how therapy works, answer any questions you have, and go over confidentiality and expectations. In our work together, we’ll explore thought patterns, work toward reducing distressing symptoms, improving mood and day-to-day functioning, and developing healthier ways of relating to yourself, others, and the world around you. I believe each person has the capacity for change, growth, wellness, and healing, and I see therapy as a collaborative process that supports you in moving toward those goals. You don’t need to prepare anything or know exactly what to say. We’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and you’re welcome to ask questions or share as much or as little as you’d like. The goal is for you to leave with a better sense of whether we’re a good fit and what our work together might look like.
One of the strengths I bring to therapy is an engaging, interactive, and collaborative approach. I believe that meaningful therapeutic work is built through a strong relationship where you feel heard, respected, and understood. I’m genuinely invested in the collaborative process and work alongside you to identify goals, explore challenges, and develop strategies that feel realistic and meaningful to your life. I bring warmth, empathy, curiosity, and a non-judgmental perspective to my work with clients. I strive to create an emotionally safe space where you can be authentic, explore difficult or sensitive issues, and feel comfortable being yourself. At the same time, I’m not afraid to gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck and help you identify new ways of thinking, coping, and responding. I also bring a practical and individualized approach to therapy. I recognize that every person’s experiences, strengths, and needs are different, and I tailor our work to meet you where you are. My goal is to help you feel supported while also empowering you to develop greater self-awareness, confidence, and the tools needed to create lasting change
My ideal client is someone who is ready to better understand themselves, navigate life’s challenges, and create meaningful change. I have a particular passion for supporting pregnant women and mothers, and I hold a certification in maternal mental health. I understand that pregnancy, the postpartum period, and motherhood can bring profound emotional, relational, and personal changes, and I enjoy helping women navigate these transitions while maintaining a sense of identity, connection, and well-being. I also work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, or significant life transitions. You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected from yourself, or unsure of how to move forward. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what you need from therapy. What matters most is a willingness to explore, reflect, and work collaboratively toward greater emotional well-being. I bring a warm, engaging, and non-judgmental approach to therapy. I believe in creating an emotionally safe space where you can be authentic while also receiving thoughtful feedback, practical strategies, and gentle challenges when appropriate. Together, we can explore the connections between your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships and identify healthier, more fulfilling ways of moving forward. Ultimately, my ideal client is someone who wants to feel more like themselves again—or discover a stronger, more authentic version of themselves—and is ready to take that journey collaboratively.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients explore the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I work collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful or distorted thought patterns, examine the beliefs behind them, and develop healthier and more balanced ways of thinking. I also help clients develop practical coping strategies and behavioral changes that support their goals, increase self-awareness, and promote lasting positive change.
I incorporate Christian principles and faith into therapy when clients desire a faith-based approach to their healing and growth. I provide a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their concerns through the lens of their Christian faith. This may include integrating Scripture, prayer, spiritual reflection, and biblical principles alongside therapeutic techniques to help clients develop hope, strengthen their relationship with God, and navigate life’s challenges in a way that aligns with their values and beliefs.
I incorporate Compassion-Focused Therapy principles to help clients develop greater self-compassion and reduce patterns of self-criticism, shame, and negative self-judgment. I work collaboratively with clients to cultivate a more understanding and compassionate response toward themselves, particularly when facing difficult emotions, past experiences, or personal struggles. Through this approach, clients can build emotional resilience, increase self-acceptance, and develop healthier ways of responding to themselves and others.
