Lloydy Berrouet
As a Caribbean-born woman, I value family, resilience, community, and a safe space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. My passion for social work comes from a genuine desire to help people navigate life’s challenges, recognize their inner strength, and discover that they don’t have to face everything alone. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 17 years of experience supporting individuals and families through various life experiences. I understand that life can sometimes feel overwhelming, whether you’re managing anxiety, navigating relationship challenges, adjusting to life transitions, or trying to rediscover yourself. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey where you can feel comfortable showing up as your authentic self without fear of judgment. My approach is warm, compassionate, and solution-focused. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and client-centered approaches to help you build coping skills, strengthen self-awareness, and work toward meaningful change. My goal is to meet you where you are, honor your unique experiences, and walk alongside you as you work toward greater emotional well-being, confidence, and personal growth. You deserve to feel supported, valued, and empowered to create a life that feels fulfilling to you.
First session
I hope clients leave our first session feeling welcomed, heard, respected, and comfortable being themselves. I want them to feel that they have entered a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where their experiences matter and their voices are valued. Our first session is a chance to get to know one another, gather important information about your background, current concerns, and therapy goals, and discuss expectations and guidelines for our work together. We will review how therapy works, set communication and attendance expectations, and explore what you hope to gain. Just as importantly, the first session gives us both an opportunity to determine whether we are a good fit and whether my therapeutic approach aligns with your needs. My goal is for you to leave with a clearer understanding of the therapeutic process, a sense of hope, and the confidence to take the next step in your personal growth. You do not need to have all the answers or know exactly where to begin. We will work together to identify your needs, build trust, and develop a plan that feels meaningful and achievable for you.
Strengths
Growing up in the Caribbean and being raised by my extended family taught me the importance of community, resilience, and learning from the people around me. My journey has been shaped by navigating adulthood independently, putting myself through college without a strong support system, and learning valuable life lessons from the diverse individuals I have encountered along the way. I consider myself a lifelong learner who believes that every experience, challenge, conversation, and book offers an opportunity to grow. These experiences have shaped the way I connect with my clients—with empathy, an open mind, and an appreciation for each person’s unique journey. I understand that everyone’s path is different, and sometimes we must discover our strengths and create our own roadmaps along the way. What makes my sessions unique is my ability to combine my professional knowledge as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with real-life perspective, cultural awareness, and a genuine interest in understanding each individual. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, exploring challenges without judgment, and discovering practical ways to move forward. I believe growth is possible at every stage of life, and you don't have to have everything figured out to begin.
Ideal clients
My Ideal Client My ideal clients are adults between the ages of 18 and 45 who are motivated to better understand themselves, navigate life’s challenges, and make meaningful changes. They are willing to take an active role in therapy, open to self-reflection, and interested in developing practical tools to support their emotional well-being. I enjoy working with individuals who are self-starters and ready to explore their strengths, identify areas for growth, and work toward personal goals. My ideal clients may be navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, career stress, or significant life transitions. They are open to learning new perspectives, building healthy coping skills, and applying what they learn in therapy to their everyday lives. I also value clients who prioritize open, honest, and respectful communication. This includes communicating proactively about scheduling changes, cancellations, missed sessions, and changes in therapeutic needs or goals. I encourage clients to feel comfortable discussing when they need a different approach, want to adjust the frequency of sessions, or feel ready to transition out of therapy. I believe consistent communication and collaboration help build a strong therapeutic relationship and support meaningful progress. Above all, my ideal clients are willing to invest in themselves and take ownership of their growth. You do not need to have everything figured out to begin therapy—just a willingness to show up, communicate openly, and take steps toward the life you want to create.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, understand how their thoughts influence their emotions and behaviors, and develop healthier coping strategies. Through practical exercises and collaborative goal-setting, I empower clients to build self-awareness, manage symptoms, and make meaningful changes in their daily lives.
