Pensacola, FL - Accepting clients in FL

Hello, I'm Amber, a dedicated and compassionate trauma-informed therapist committed to providing a safe and empathetic space for individuals on their healing journey. With a background in psychology and extensive training, I bring a holistic approach that integrates psychodynamic, person-centered, mind-body approach and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques to support clients in their path to recovery. Incorporating a mind-body approach in therapy involves recognizing and addressing the interconnectedness of mental and physical health. This approach may include techniques such as mindfulness, deep breathing, or progressive muscle relaxation to help clients become more aware of how their thoughts and emotions influence their physical sensations. By integrating practices that focus on bodily awareness and self-regulation, therapists can help clients manage stress, reduce anxiety, and improve overall well-being. My psychodynamic orientation allows me to help clients delve into the unconscious aspects of their psyche, understanding how past experiences shape current thoughts and behaviors. Through this exploration, we work together to identify patterns, gain insight into unresolved conflicts, and promote long-term personal growth. In addition to the psychodynamic approach, I integrate person-centered therapy principles, emphasizing the importance of the therapeutic relationship. I believe in the inherent goodness and resilience of individuals and strive to create a space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to navigate their unique healing process. Furthermore, my practice incorporates elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), focusing on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors. This approach allows us to develop practical strategies for coping with the impact of trauma, fostering resilience and promoting positive change. With a commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about the latest advancements in trauma treatment, I am dedicated to providing evidence-based and client-centered care. I am here to support you on your journey towards healing, personal empowerment, and a more fulfilling life.

Trained as a psychologist (Ph.D. from Cornell University). Some 20 years later I earned a specialized graduate degree in Psychotherapy from Nova SE University, the only nationally accredited program in all of Florida. I am a fully licensed therapist in the State of Florida. I have taught psychology at Princeton, Tulane, Cornell, and Harvard Medical School. We will spend most of our time creating solutions, instead of analyzing problems. So often, therapy gets bogged down in the endless exploration of problems. Problems are the results of behaviors that didn't work for you in the past. Solutions flow from changes that will work for you starting right now. Solutions make your life better. They bring joy and peace to your life.

Hi! I'm glad you're here! My name is Tricia Houghtby and I am a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a decade of experience helping individuals navigate life's challenges. With licenses in both Vermont and Florida, I have had the privilege of supporting clients from diverse backgrounds in their journeys towards healing and growth. Specializing in areas such as stress and anxiety, LGBTQ+ related issues, trauma and abuse, self-esteem, and confidence building, I like to approach therapy with a deep understanding of the unique struggles individuals may face. I believe it is important to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where people can explore their thoughts and emotions freely. I look forward to moments of shared laughter, yet I also recognize the importance of delving into deeper and more challenging reflections. Whether we're sharing light-hearted moments or exploring complex emotions, I want you to know that I'm here to support you every step of the way. As a clinician I tailor the therapeutic approach to meet the specific needs of each person, drawing from a diverse range of modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based techniques, existential, motivational and narrative therapy. With an integrative approach this ensures that each person receives individualized care that resonates with their personal experiences. Above all, it is my hope that kindness, warmth, and genuine care for each person will be reflected in your experience as we explore your goals. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and strive to create an environment where people feel accepted, understood, and supported. Whether you're seeking to overcome past traumas, manage stress and anxiety, explore your identity, or enhance your self-esteem, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing and self-discovery.

I am currently accepting new clients via teletherapy. I have been practicing as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida for the past 23 years and am also a Licensed Therapist in Virginia, largely with a focus in the areas of depression, anxiety, thought disturbance, addiction, emotion regulation, relationship distress, and self-esteem. I feel many of the responses we struggle with are connected to a traumatic event (or perceived trauma) from the past. Currently, my primary focus has been in the individual realm, with a focus on relationship growth. I will encourage you to prioritize the areas you wish to address in therapy and tailor my approach on an individual basis. I believe in client autonomy so the areas that are addressed are the areas you want to address. I draw on several treatment modalities (including, but not limited to, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy) to allow you to further develop your strengths and help you meet all of your treatment plan goals at a speed that works best for you. I also have completed training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy as well as the Developmental Model for Couples and integrate both of these approaches into my relational therapy practice. Overall, I help you to see that managing the stressor is more important than just managing the stress as it will allow you to cope with anything that comes your way.

Davie, FL - Accepting clients in FL

I do not believe in a "one size fits all" kind of approach. While uncomfortable feelings might be a commonality (especially in today's world,) I believe we are all individuals who learn, experience, and react to situations differently. One thing I know for sure, if everything was going "great" chances are you would not be reading this bio right now. BRAVO to you for taking this monumental step and investing in yourself!!! Hi, I'm Masha Andreoni, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida with 10+ years of professional experience and 48 years of lived experience. A majority of my work experience has been spent working with Veterans and Active Duty Reservists focusing on post deployment issues, substance use/abuse, and military sexual trauma. Today, I work with individuals/groups/families within a multitude of populations. Most importantly, I do not believe that individuals fit snuggly into a particular mental health "box." For example, if diagnosed with PTSD... there is a good chance that anxiety, depression, insomnia, relationship difficulties, work-related issues (etc.) may be present. If struggling with addictions...anxiety, depression insomnia, relationship difficulties, work-related issues (etc.) may be present (you get it). My focus/goal is to understand where you are coming from, what you hope to achieve, avoid making any particular judgements/labels, and work together as we embrace this journey of solution focused change and betterment. While I can take the time to tell you how my approach is warm, motivating, understanding, open....in the end, this is for you to decide. I can however assure you that regardless of diplomas achieved, I never stop pursuing education in this ever-changing field/world. I am here to be of service. With me comes my personality, knowledge, humor (when appropriate,) and respect! Truly looking forward to working with you.

Hi, my name is Pam. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, LMHC, LCMHC) and Certified National Counselor (NCC) in the state of South Carolina North Carolina and Florida. Since I became a counselor at a college in 2015, I have become an expert in my field of working with young women and I LOVE IT! I have been able to assist many students through empowerment and retraining of their brains to move forward and create the life they desire, rather than the life they "should" have. I believe anyone and everyone can benefit from DBT; learning better communication skills, how to feel and manage their emotions, how to deal with distress that happens in all of our lives, and most important; how to be present and authentic in our own life. No matter if you are dealing with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship, family or any issue these skills can change your life if you try. I am also a trauma therapist using an innovative technique called EMDR. Trauma can be anything that holds us back or has a lasting emotional triggering that affects us on a conscious or sub conscious level. The therapy is meant for healing, not coping. Many times depression and anxiety are results of negative events that are stuck in our brains and the cells of our bodies. What EMDR creates is a space to heal from what has happened to us, rather than just cope with it the rest of our lives. I very much look forward to working with you! See you soon.

Tampa, FL - Accepting clients in FL

Since becoming a counselor, I have worked in a variety of community counseling settings. I have worked with clients from ages 3 through 80 and with individuals, couples, and families. With that breadth of experience, very little shocks or surprises me and I have gotten a pretty good sense of where the types of counseling that play to my strengths as a counselor overlap with the types of counseling that are helpful for my clients. This sense (along with learning about lots and lots of research into what helps people find and maintain mental health) has led to the following guiding principles that shape all the counseling I do: 1) The client is always in charge. I know a lot of things but you will always be the one who decides what you want to get out of counseling, how we work towards that goal, whether or not what we’re doing seems to be working, and when we’re done. 2) Change and health happen through relationships. No matter what you come in for, there are always relational implications of change and relational factors that contribute to whatever it is that you came to counseling to change. 3) Counseling should be efficient. Counseling has significant costs in time and money. I think the benefits far outweigh the costs but if I can give you the benefits while helping you save on the costs then I want to do that.

When life gives us the unexpected sometimes, we need support systems that may seem untraditional to some. As, a therapist, I welcome all the doubts that you may have to engage in the therapeutic process. Therapy is a partnership, meaning, I will be there to motivate and challenge you to arrive at the desired outcome. Most of my career has had a focus of working with individuals that suffer from dual diagnosis, trauma, and poor coping skills. Each treatment plan is developed personally for each individual meeting their own personal needs. My primary treatment orientation includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. I also have a passion foe working with those suffering from burnout in the workplace and those seeking personal self-care plans. out My interaction from beginning to end will also include trauma-informed care. I, thank you, in advance for letting me help you achieve one of your many goals in life, freedom from the bondage that is holding you from your peace!
