New to Grow
Hi, I’m Lauren. I’ve been helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges for over 20 years. My background includes supporting both children and adults, in residential and outpatient settings. I utilize a combination of modalities while always tailoring treatment to each person’s unique needs. I believe therapy should feel collaborative, compassionate, and centered around what matters most to you. I’m also deeply passionate about raising awareness for suicide prevention and creating safe spaces where people feel heard and supported.
We’ll spend some time getting to know each other. I’ll explain how therapy works, go over confidentiality and what it means for your privacy, and answer any questions you might have. Most importantly, I’ll invite you to share what brought you here and what you’d like to get out of therapy, so we can start shaping goals together. Think of it as a conversation where I’m learning about you and making sure you feel comfortable with the process.
I bring warmth, compassion, and active listening to every session, meeting clients exactly where they are. My strength-based and flexible approach allows me to tailor therapy to each individual, blending proven techniques with gentle guidance. What sets my work apart is my ability to create a safe, supportive space that encourages growth, builds confidence, and helps clients achieve meaningful, lasting change.
I love working with clients who are ready to make changes in their lives, even if they’re not sure how yet. You don’t need to have all the answers — just a willingness to show up, explore new ideas, and work together toward your goals.
I utilize a person-centered approach, which means I offer a safe, supportive space where you can feel truly heard and accepted without judgment. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you with empathy and care as you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together, we’ll work at your pace to help you find clarity, confidence, and healing.
When helpful, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to support you in understanding how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we’ll look at patterns that may be contributing to distress and explore practical strategies to challenge unhelpful thinking, manage emotions, and make meaningful changes in your daily life. CBT is collaborative and goal-oriented, and we’ll work together to find what works best for you.
I incorporate mindfulness into our sessions to help you become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations in the present moment, without judgment. This can support you in managing stress, reducing anxiety, and responding more calmly to challenges. We might use simple breathing exercises, grounding techniques, or mindful reflection to help you feel more centered and connected in your day-to-day life.
Motivational interviewing is a way of talking together that helps you explore what changes you might want to make and why they matter to you. Instead of me telling you what to do, we work together to bring out your own reasons for change and build your confidence to take steps at your own pace.
