About me

I'm a queer Latina/Chicana licensed therapist in FL and I have been in the mental health field since 2016. This is truly my passion! I opened my own practice, Mindful Sol Therapy, early 2024. I work with adults who are neurodivergent, the LGBTQ+ and TGNC community, infertility/loss/birthing trauma, grief/loss, anxiety/depression disorders, cultural adjustments/assimilation, and trauma. I enjoy working with individuals who can be honest with themselves, want to be challenged, and are motivated for change and improvement. I believe in providing a safe, non-judgmental, supportive space. I like to meet my clients where they are and help them figure out how to live their best life. I'm not here to tell you what you're thinking or feeling as I believe the therapist-client relationship should be a collaborative experience. My goal is to help you and guide you to figure out how to live your most authentic life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first to third sessions, we will be go over your intake information to complete a biopsychosocial assessment to get a better idea of your history, any previous therapy experience/growth, where you are and then discuss your goals and create a treatment plan. These first few sessions will help me get to know you better to provide an assessment and give you a chance to get to learn my style and personality to see if we are a good fit!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I provide a safe, affirming, non-judgmental, and warm inclusive space for you to be as comfortable as possible to be yourself.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with individuals of the LGBTQ+ community, young adults coming into their own in figuring out who they are, those who may be struggling with fertility, and POC who may be learning or struggling with adjusting and/or assimilation in the U.S.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I like to use CBT techniques to help restructure the way you think and subsequently react to certain situations you may be struggling with. I use this technique frequently within the conversations in our sessions and has been known to be very effective for most individuals.

Gender-affirming therapy

I provide services to many individuals of the LGBTQ+ and TGNB communities. I am currently learning to write support letters for those of my clients who need one for gender affirming medical treatments.

Grief Therapy

I have years of experience working with individuals who have lost loved ones including those who are (or have undergone) undergoing fertility issues and loss.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Our sessions are centered around my clients. My method is no strictly structured to our treatment plan, especially if you have new concerns or stressors that pop up, we can spend the session processing that. I meet my clients where they are as this is a collaborative experience where I provide a listening ear, education, and guidance as appropriate.

I was looking for a modern, progressive therapist— and ideally part of the LGBTQ+ community. Rocio stood out as an ideal match. From the very beginning, she was warm, welcoming, and made it easy for me to open up. She clearly outlined what our sessions would look like and set expectations in a way that felt supportive. I left our first session feeling safe, seen, and genuinely excited about the work we’ll be doing together.
