I am a therapist who has helped individuals develop positive coping skills to overcome barriers that have kept them from reaching their goals in life. Those who come to my practice have felt welcomed and accepted in a non-judgmental environment. I often hear from my clients, (especially from men) that they wished that they had not postponed treatment after starting services with me. By actively listening to your concerns, worries, and issues that keeping you from your goals, you and I will get to work on overcoming those barriers.
In our first session together, introductions will occur so that a comfortable rapport is established. The client should feel accepted so that they are open to sharing their thoughts and feelings. I will learn more about you and any challenges you are experiencing and work closely with you in the development of a plan for your treatment and measurable goals for therapy.
I have often been told by my clients that I come to session with an open mind and the ability to listen to their problems. Typically, my ways of treatment feel more like a conversation so that clients feel more at ease and heard.
Many of my clients are often dealing with problems from their past that are weighing them down. Often my clients feel like they are stuck in a loop and cannot make any progress to overcome their barriers in life. I have helped many clients who are often facing anxiety, depression, anger, relationship issues, and grief to name a few.
I utilize CBT as an intervention to assist clients in identifying, exploring, and chalenging negative thought patterns that may impact symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger, and low self-esteem.
I utilize a strength-based approach with my patients that focuses on their inner strengths, abilities, knowledge and resourcefulness in order to assist them in affecting positive changes within themselves.
A collaborative and solution focused approach between client and therapist, focusing on the here-and-now (present). Let the focus be on client strengths, what can be done, and how to implement goal directed tasks to move forward and foster lasting change to improve overall quality of life.
