My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

When explaining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to a client, it's important to keep the explanation simple, clear, and relatable. Here's a way to break it down: "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that helps people understand and change the patterns of thinking and behavior that are causing them distress or problems in their lives. The idea behind CBT is that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected. The way we think about situations can impact how we feel, and how we feel can influence how we behave. By identifying and challenging negative or unhelpful thoughts, we can change the way we feel and the way we act. In CBT, we focus on understanding your thoughts and beliefs, especially those that may be unrealistic or unhelpful, and work on changing them to be more balanced and realistic. This can help reduce negative emotions, such as anxiety or depression, and lead to healthier behaviors. It's a very practical, goal-oriented therapy. Together, we’ll work on specific problems you're facing, and I’ll give you tools and techniques that you can use outside of sessions to manage stress, improve your mood, or cope better with challenges.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a form of therapy that focuses on helping you create a richer, more meaningful life by learning how to accept difficult thoughts and feelings, rather than trying to avoid or fight them. Instead of trying to control or eliminate discomfort, ACT teaches you to change your relationship with it. The goal isn’t to get rid of pain, but to be able to live your life in a way that’s consistent with your values, even when difficult emotions arise.

Grief Therapy

In grief therapy, we work together to help you understand and express your emotions in a healthy way. We don’t rush through the pain of loss; instead, we give you a safe space to grieve, reflect, and begin to find ways to move forward while honoring what you've lost.
