New to Grow
Hi, I’m Alyssa, a licensed clinical social worker who works with teens and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and life transitions. I have over three years of experience helping clients better understand themselves, manage overwhelming emotions, and build healthier relationships with themselves and others. I believe therapy should feel both supportive and practical, so I focus on helping clients gain insight while also learning tools they can use in their everyday lives. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each individual, because no two people or journeys are the same.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we will focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask about your current concerns, your background, and what you hope to gain from our work together. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and there is no pressure to share anything you are not ready to discuss. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood, while also beginning to identify practical steps and goals that will help you start feeling relief and clarity right away.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a warm, calm, and non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I am especially skilled at helping people who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally stuck learn how to better understand their thoughts and feelings and develop tools to cope more effectively. I blend evidence-based approaches with genuine connection, allowing clients to feel supported while also making meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with teens and adults who feel overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally sensitive, or stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand. Many of my clients struggle with racing thoughts, self-doubt, relationship stress, trauma, or ADHD-related challenges such as difficulty focusing, regulating emotions, or feeling misunderstood. My ideal clients are those who want to feel more grounded, confident, and in control of their lives and are open to exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a supportive, non-judgmental space.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together we identify unhelpful thinking patterns and replace them with more balanced, realistic thoughts while building practical coping skills to reduce anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm in everyday life.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
I use Cognitive Processing Therapy to help clients process and reframe thoughts related to trauma and stressful life experiences. This approach helps reduce feelings of guilt, fear, and self-blame while supporting healthier beliefs and emotional healing.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I use mindfulness-based techniques to help clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment. These skills support emotional regulation, reduce anxiety, and help clients feel more grounded and calm.
Strength-Based
I use a strengths-based approach to help clients recognize their resilience, personal strengths, and inner resources. By focusing on what is already working, we build confidence, motivation, and lasting change.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
I use Emotionally Focused Therapy to help clients better understand and express their emotions while improving connection with themselves and others. This approach is especially helpful for anxiety, relationship concerns, and healing from past emotional experiences.
