Hi, I’m Brian If you feel stuck, and unable to change things, I can help you to start moving again. We can join together and create a strategy for working through the event or dilemma that is stressing you out. Together we can restore or surpass your previous level of productivity and satisfaction. I want to hear your story. I will listen. I will not judge. For the last 18 years, I have helped individuals, families and couples resolve problematic situations. Their experiences often instilled insight, confidence, serenity and hope. I believe that self-empowerment begins with self-understanding. I will help you understand why you do what you do and feel what you feel. I have extensive experience treating addicted people in residential in patient treatment, outpatient and aftercare facilities. I advise and treat families struggling to with parents, children and siblings that are addicted

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I will use my training and experience to guide you through the current difficulty and encourage you to grow from it. I may ask questions that are difficult to answer. I may suggest that try things that initially appear to be uncomfortable. The process may be challenging. I will never push you farther than you want to go. I will acknowledge your efforts toward self- development and to encourage you to continue on the quest to improve. I use a variety of different approaches and we will determine what works best for your situation. One of my goals is to help you to develop your sense of self-empowerment.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Evidence based therapeutic methods and techniques that have proven to be effective with The clients I have served. This holistic approach includes, but is not limited to Client centered empathetic listening combined with the following: cognitive/behavioral, Positive psychology, Gestalt, Adlerian communication and respect, Finding meaning and purpose and education. I avoid using technical terms. I may use humor, sarcasm and hyperbole to emphasize ideas and break up tension. I use the mind/body connection with mindfulness and meditation to reduce emotional volatility and increase rationality. Spirituality can also be a part of the healing process and personal growth for clients that are interested.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am able to find common ground with my clients despite their diverse backgrounds and experiences. I specialize in helping people gain the knowledge, strength and confidence necessary to resolve current issue. Additionally, we work together to build the mental infrastructure for creating a fulfilling life. I am aware of the apprehension my clients may experience before attending their first counseling session. I am grateful to have benefitted from the counseling that I have received. I am also thankful for the opportunity to support my clients while they struggle to overcome the emotional challenges that they face.
