Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have used CBT as a practice method for many years. It is important to be aware of your cognitive distortions and negative thought patterns and CBT will be essential in changing these unhealthy patterns.
Couples Counseling
I have been coaching couples in therapy for many years. The focus on our work together is to improve communication skills and to help couples really listen to each other without letting their own issue filter into the conversations. Teaching couples empathy and how to " Lean Into" their relationshhip. This is done by using Gottman Methods and Mirroring techniques developed by Harville Hendrix.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I have used DBT treatment in my practice for over 15 years. It is essential in helping patients learn how to stay in the present moment and spend less time in the past of future. It works very well in combination with CBT.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
I have been a trained ERP therapist for over 15 years. It is the evidence based practice for treating OCD and Phobias. It is a very effective treatment modality and also helps decrase other forms of anxiety.
Mind-body approach
During your assessment we will look at the connection between the mind and body and help patients to understand the importance of the connection between the the two.

I felt unheard, misunderstood, inappropriately challenged, and that repeated issues were not being addressed. I was told to "let the past go, today is a new day" when I needed to address the past grievences to move forward. He seemed to cater to my partner more than us as a couple. I talked to 3 other counselors, to make sure I didnt just want a "yes mam" therapist. This was very infuriating, he dismissedme, so i gave him answers he wanted from me.

Today's session it was very evident that Guy was interested in our mental health well-being, which I felt wecoming. He also stressed that we should not be concerned that we should focus on our future relationship together and not dwell on the past.
